Jordan Peterson watch: “you sanctimonious prick…I’d slap you”

I enjoy documenting what this guy is really like.

.. i invested 5 minutes observing this creep
I invest more time observing a scary insectoid crawling beetle I find in the damp part of the barn floor near the grain bin.. that’s more important

    Email transfer me 500.00
and I will attend a ‘lecture’ of his
grab a few photos, lend an ear
    and send my report
    of how abstract, obtuse
and full of himself he is
    He should headslap himself
    just for his smugness

    I do hope he’s childless

I already regret the 2 or 3 minutes I invested
    in sending you this message
but I know you’re one of the good guys
    He and Andrew Scheer share
    the same rarified air currently
It seeps from the damp edges
    near leaking septic tanks

I don’t mind him. Seems very intelligent.

Isn’t it okay to punch Nazis though? (I’m sure you did a little of that in your punk rock days).

The author called out here called Peterson’s native friend, who is an eminent carver, a “noble savage”. The friend is a member of a nation into which Peterson has apparently been inducted.

Don’t those bonds justify Peterson’s choice of words?

Though maybe this in fact a laudatory post and I mistook the tone. Perhaps you see Peterson as a kindred spirit?

    • Warren says:

Peterson was “inducted” into the Kwakiutl, eh? Let’s see the fucking proof.

      • Simon says:

Peterson talks about it in one of his videos. The carver, Charles Joseph, did his entire upstairs, or something like that. Then Peterson said there was a ceremony with fifteen members of Joseph’s nation in his house and he became a member, though what that means I don’t know. It seemed to entail the obligations of friendship though.

You know, WK, the Peterson phenomenon is like the proverbial iceberg. If you’re not down with the new, new media, then you are only going to see about 10% of what is happening. Most of it is happening on YouTube, where Peterson now has close to 1 Million subscribers. That’s the upper upper echelon of YouTube fame. And that’s kind of a warning, I guess. His rise is indicative of the political convulsions the West is undergoing. It would be cool to pay attention.

Your interview with the Subhumans bomber in one of your books comes to mind. If you interviewed JBP in the same objective way it might be good for our country you know. At the very least it might help the Liberals get out of their identity politics cul-de-sac and move back to the centre.

“Useful Fool” is the the historical term that comes to mind.

  5. Pedant says:

I find it hard to believe that Peterson would lie about being inducted into the First Nations tribe.

For starters, it would be absurdly easy to disprove if it were indeed a lie and Peterson is smart enough to know that.

Secondly, although one may take issue with Peterson’s views (and Peterson himself seems to welcome respectful debate), he’s not known to be dishonest with respect to his own life.

I do think he needs to tone down the aggressive reaction toward those who would goad him.

  6. Fred from BC says:

To millions of his supporters, this is just going to make him more admirable. You can’t just throw accusations of racism at someone anymore and expect to intimidate them into silence.
