The Kinsellian Pine Box Theory™️

You get to leave power in one of two ways.

One, you get to leave on your own two feet, at a time and place of your choosing.

Or, two, you leave in a pine box.

The latter happens when politicians start to believe their own bullshit. The latter happens when politicians gorge themselves on the pap that is being served up to them by their servile stafflings, the ones who depend upon said politicians for a paycheque. The latter happens when a politician starts to lose touch with real people, and is only hanging out with Deputy Ministers and people who are on the payroll.

Kathleen Wynne, who I like as a person – even though she didn’t even deign to respond to my long-ago offer (and that of not a few others) to help – did not leave when she could have and should have. By default, she chose the pine box.

It isn’t going to be pretty.

Warren. It’s time for you to become Michael Avenatti north who so far is almost single-handedly bringing down the Trump crime family.

    • Ronald O'Dowd says:

      David,

But the real question is who is methodically spoon-feeding the info? Don’t have to be a rocket scientist to figure that one out. Trump got bit in the ass for his bonehead play.

      • Fred from BC says:

The second question seems to be who exactly is paying Avenatti? His client certainly doesn’t have the kind of money he demands.

Markets up, dollar up, unemployment down…the public is rapidly tiring of this farce. As others have noted, when Trump gets a BJ from a young intern in the Oval Office then lies about it under oath, THEN they might have reason to get upset with him.

This is gonna be bad. This feels like the 2011 federal election playing out at Queen’s Park.

I’m not sure what you’re getting at. Did you want to help her to leave?

Looking at the Star’s poll on how many Liberal antiford voters who are willing to leave Wynne for the now second place NDP, the Ontario Liberal Party could end up in the same pinebox as Wynne’s political career.

Everything is look rosy for Andrea Horwath however.

Everytime I think my party (the NDP) is in bad shape the Board brings it back! Thank God for those guys. Please please have them run more campaigns….

    • Ronald O'Dowd says:

      Tim,

It’s common knowledge that this PM is pretty tight with the aforementioned Martinites.

      H-E-L-P !!

There’s also this phenomenon that occurs when any Liberal Party in Canada lurches way over to the left, to try to eat the NDP’s lunch. It works for a while, but if that Liberal government gets too old and cynical, then a lot of progressive voters understandably wonder why they should vote for a party cynically playing at being left wing when they can instead vote for a real left wing party.

I’m old enough to remember the 1990 Ontario election, and this election has some similarities, notably the perception among a huge chunk of the electorate that the Liberals are cynical, opportunistic and way past their best before date. One big difference is that in 1990, the Liberals started off with a lead in the polls. So in that sense, the Liberals could be in even more trouble this time.

You’re right, as you are more often than not. She doesn’t deserve all the hostility, but that’s politics. All the discontent is focused on her and she’s stayed on far too long.

A question: even though she and the Liberals are toast this election, will Ford’s creepy “smile” comment slow down his momentum? I couldn’t help thinking of Trump stalking Ms. Clinton so closely during the debate in the US, for its skin-crawling potential.
