“I was put on this planet to do this.”

He should have listened to the “be humble” advice.

    Priceless. I spit coffee everywhere.

If there was any doubt that Trudeau has a Messiah complex there sure isn’t now. He shares similar traits with renowned cult leaders: David Koresh, Jim Jones, and others.

There isn’t an official diagnosis called Messianic complex rather the literature refers to folks like Trudeau as being patholologically narcissistic: lacking empathy, false persona, Megalomania, incredible need to be admired, painful reaction to criticism, controlling, etc

Narcissists of this scope tend to attract other narcissists-the in crowd, the hip, the ones who count. With such shallow affect, this tribe is not guided by principles, ethics or law. They’re guided my membership to the messiahs group.

The whole Liberal Party has a Messiah complex. They act like they have an ordained right to rule, and that they are the only ones supposedly sane and competent enough to ever govern Canada and to look down upon all others/lessers from on high.

In many ways, Trudeau is the quintessential Liberal made incarnate. No wonder the party is such a cult around him.

On pins and needles to see what Scheer is releasing today. I have a feeling whatever he does today will make or break the next election. It better be good or he’ll be a laughing stock.

    • the salamander says:

.. an Andrew Scheer ‘release’ holds .. nay, dictates the fate of the nation called Canada for four painfully punishing years ?

It’s weird. At the time Harper’s “Just Not Ready” negative ad campaign seemed so calculated and cynical.

    In hindsight….?

    • Vancouverois says:

Really? I still don’t see how anybody could have failed to see that it was always absolutely spot-on.

      Water under the bridge, though.

      • Ronald O'Dowd says:

        Vancouverois,

I had people telling me that Trudeau wasn’t ready but a plurality of voters wanted Harper out after a very long almost ten years, so voilà.

That’s why the ad got zero traction. A lot of people simply couldn’t stand Harper any longer and voted accordingly.

        • Vancouverois says:

Sure, it was clear that many voters felt that Harper had overstayed his welcome – I’m not surprised that he lost.

But I always thought that people voted for Trudeau *in* *spite* of knowing that he was completely unfit for the office – because they believed in his goodwill, and that he had good advisers who would help him govern well, or something. I just don’t understand how anybody could ever have thought that he was some sort of intellectual powerhouse who had earned the position of PM through his brilliant performance as MP.

          • Oscar Block says:

As many have opined before, had someone named “Justin _______” ran for the nomination of Papineau, let alone LPC leadership or PM, with a cv as thin as Justin Trudeau’s, he’d still be instructing snowboarders or memorizing espresso drinks at Starbucks.

I found it odd that the LPC would put all of their eggs in the basket case that is Justin Trudeau, when they had smart & accomplished folks vying for the leaders position.

I find it even odder that said smart & accomplished people are still standing by him, getting dragged down to his level in the process.

            That’s my C$0.02

I would like to see Dr Philpott lead the Liberals into this fall’s federal election. She is the type of leader that Canada needs right now.

          • Ronald O'Dowd says:

            Vancouverois,

Can’t speak for others but my vote was based on getting Harper out and giving Trudeau a chance. It all started to go to hell in a handbasket with the India trip. He refused to fire the big three in the PMO then, and is paying for it in spades now.

          • Adam says:

He got in and won because he was charismatic, he and his circle built this halo about him that he was the perfect politician and could do no wrong.

And the Liberal Party latched onto that because they wanted the quickest and easiest path back into governmental power. They didn’t care that he had next to no CV or track record; they cared that voters were swooning over him.

And here we are, with an arrogant, phony, entitled excuse of a PM who will probably deceive enough uninformed voters to win re-election.

  5. Lawrence Barry says:

WK – huge props for continuing to keep ahead of this story – thank you. And – btw – I voted for Randy White many moons ago here in N. Van – that was a mistake on my part!

  6. Ronald O'Dowd says:

I don’t know. I think it matters more if you miss the mark. GWB said it was his destiny to be president. And so it was.
