Apology rules

A reader asked me what to do about the MacLeod v. Melnyk controversy. Here’s my advice, gratis.

    I think those are excellent rules for normal life or the business world…. but a little outdated for elected politics. Crisis management is now: 1. Deny it happened. 2. Accuse the other side of setting you up. 3. What about xyz / change the subject. 4. The other side misinterpreted what happened / imply they are crazy. If you don’t do the above, voters are conditioned to think you are a coward. Sincerity is extinct in politics.
