#LavScam, translated

Longer Jody Wilson-Raybould: Justin Trudeau and his cabal are providing “false, self-serving/one-sided and inaccurate accounts.”

Shorter version: “Justin Trudeau is a bald-faced liar.”

The narrative told by Barton and Wherry is like it was dictated by Butts and Telford, leaving out most of the important facts. The most important of which was how Trudeau and the PMO block the full public testimony of most of the individuals involved in the scandal. CBC was and is actively participately in the coverup.

      WSISYW,

And the Mother Corp wonders why objective viewers have turned elsewhere. Personally, I would fire the managing editor of The National in a New York minute.

    • Jim R says:

The piece in The National last night also glossed over the fact that JWR was moved from the position of AG after she refused to overrule the Director of Public Prosecutions decision that SNC-Lavalin was not entitled to a deferred prosecution agreement. This is a key part of the story, but the CBC buried it last night.
      WTF.

As long as JWR is bound by cabinet secrecy, we’ll only hear one side of the story – the side that does indeed appear to provide “false, self-serving/one-sided and inaccurate accounts”.

We can trust a CBC “journalist” to publish a fawning puff job on behalf of Justin and the liberal party. There will be lots more of this stuff to come, I expect, from the CBC as the election moves into full gear.

We know that Katie Telford has a bunch of friendly journalists to spread the messages she wants. Rosemary Barton seems to be very fond of Prime Minister Trudeau.

  4. Ronald O'Dowd says:

Here’s what I don’t like: Trudeau’s ridiculous position that has absolutely zero credibility that they did nothing wrong when everyone even only remotely detached from the PMO knows in fact that they did precisely the opposite.

Then there’s JWR conveniently cloaking herself behind cabinet confidence when it suits her purposes and being remarkably more candid when she deems it appropriate.

In short, both of them are real politicians and they each have it down to a science. There is no righteous saint in this story, not by a long shot. The hypocrisy is mind-numbing but not necessarily astonishing.

  5. Ronald O'Dowd says:

And I would add this: the Prime Minister has repeatedly in public forums pronounced himself on matters post JWR leaving the AG-J portfolio. Everyone understands the limitations of the waiver. However, given the PM’s repeated actions, IMHO, it’s now time for JWR to get a fresh instructive legal opinion and release its main conclusion publicly as to cabinet confidence. Without that, her assertions remain at the very least open to legitimate questioning, which nevessarily can’t help but undermine, to some extent, her credibility. She says it’s not fair. So, do something about it.
