Susan Delacourt can’t be bought

…I knew that would get your attention.

Why won’t the Toronto Star report that it now regularly receives hundreds of thousands of dollars from the Liberal government it covers? That is a pretty relevant fact.

Their readers deserve to know it – because, speaking purely personally, I’d say it has sure had an impact.

Wow, you’ve been obsessing about Delacourt for three days now. That article must have really humiliated you.

p.s. No one listens to your podcast.

The Toronto Star experiences bribery differently than the rest of us… Because its 2019.

Do PostMedia papers report on the money they receive?

      Campbell,

I’m guessing that none of them do. If they did, what would that say about the publisher’s business acumen…

Their lead opinion writer has authored at least a dozen articles this year about his extreme distaste for this media slush fund (Andrew Coyne, btw.) Another Post opinon writer (John Ivison) is opposed to this fund as well, and has written about it numerous times. Their employer, on the other hand, is rather more supportive.

    FORUM POLL:

And I thought that Ford was doing a lot of shitting lately. That’s nothing compared to Trudeau as the bottom seemingly falls out in Quebec. If other polls confirm this, they are more than done as dinner. Man, it’s already over if this holds.

The Torstar Corp reported a $17.4 M second quarter loss this past week. Apparently, revenues continue to decline, even after accounting for $6 M of federal funds. After excluding restructuring costs, the loss was “only” 2 cents per share. Perhaps other journalists (if Delacourt is worthy of the name) will be included in the next round of downsizing.

Always good when this info is passed along.

  7. The real danger of the media bailout is that it gives people an excuse to dismiss any news story they disagree with (Even if it comes from a source that isn’t getting any money).
