Hello numskulls running LPC war room…. Reality is knocking on the door. Just want you to know that tomorrow morning the sun will rise in the East, tomorrow evening the sun will set in the West, the Earth is a sphere, gravity is real and this campaign needs to be completed by an interim leader.

He said he’s sorry. He said he takes responsibility!
What? An apology is the first step Justin. Being responsible regarding this disgusting repetitive behavior is to the the right thing: resign, seek counseling, get race desensitization therapy, and then run again as a changed man.
No one believes saying sorry has *solved* everything!

should also be barred from participating in the Leader’s Debates.

      • Ronald O'Dowd says:

        TRS,

Au contraire, Canadians would be well served to see this Prime Minister addressing the concerns of his fellow leaders. After all, it’s their job to show that they are a suitable alternative possessing the right stuff for leadership.

        • Dawn Mills says:

Quite true, however I don’t have much faith in them delivering any kind of states(wo)menship. Turkeys the lot of them. After watching the staged affair yesterday, I am afraid our media can’t cope either. Puff ball questions with only a couple of hardball ones. Why wasn’t he asked that after 2, count ’em 2, findings from the Ethics Commissioner that he has crossed the line, and now this, why would he not do the honourable thing and resign?

Where are all the big stars of the Liberal Party? Mr Morneau, Ms Freeland, Mr Goodale? Silent.

          • Dawn,

They all failed miserably the true leadership test when JWR and JP were unceremoniously ejected from caucus by this Prime Minister. And they said nothing in protest. You didn’t see any of them resign either.

Despite difference in politics, maybe him a BoJo will become good buddies. After all both despite differences in politics are known for buffoonish, clownish damaging things.

  4. G. Alexander says:

Well, Trudeau is making his best impression of a Golliwog.

On the bright side, Justin and Sarah Silverman can now do a comedy duo act.

  5. Max says:

Is it just me, or do others gut lead them to suspect this out-of-control frat boy has a lot of skeletons in his closet. All I can say is he’s one lucky creepy perv that there is no video of his groping of that very young female journalist in BC.

Right about now, the Liberal War Room is just realizing something. That it would have been better to have Kinsella inside the LPC tent pissing out, than outside the LPC tent pissing in.

My prediction: Fees to hire Daisy Consulting Group are gonna go thru the roof.

Lastly, I imagine Jody and Jane have a fireside chat about the mysteries of karma.

  6. Daphne Dykeman says:

Your self respect is worth something.

  7. Ronald O'Dowd says:

It’s easy as hell for me now to predict a Conservative majority but I will give Scheer this piece of unsollicited advice: don’t fail as a political strategist like Harper did in 2011 by going Gonzo-Rabid-Right cause Canadians will never, EVER stand for that kind of shit and as sure as I’m breathing, you’ll be out on your precious ass after one term if you aren’t bright enough to remember this. You’re welcome.

    • Miles Lunn says:

You mean 2015, not 2011 as Harper won a majority in 2011, but in 2015 he did do some stupid things near the end, Barbaric cultural practices hotline a great example of that.

      • Miles,

No, I mean 2011. It’s at that point that Harper quite deliberately amplified by multitudes his govern as if he had a majority strategy, previously road tested in his previous two minority governments. When Harper elected to go A-Bridge-Too-Far-Right for most voters during the majority mandate, that’s when he really cut his own throat politically.

        • Vancouverois says:

I thought it was in 2008 that they missed a majority by getting too cocky at the last minute…

They may well have become cocky in 2011 too; but since they *did* get a majority then, it obviously didn’t have as much of an impact.

          • Ronald O'Dowd says:

            Vancouverois,

You use the word cocky. I use the concept of overly right-wing wackiness WHEN they finally got the majority. Harper quite deliberately went over the right-wing edge and Canadian voters couldn’t wait to kick his sorry ass to the curb because of it. And they sure did.

  8. The problem I see for the CPC war room is how do you get to critical mass ASAP (seemingly accomplished) and sustain it all the way to election day (like the burning of nuclear fuel rods) without committing the unpardonable political sin of overkill (à la Kim Campbell-John Tory)???

The CPC war room has to be at the top of its game because the risk for them is monumental. They can torpedo their campaign in a nano-second if they cross that invisible red-line that most Canadians already have etched out in their mind.

    • Vancouverois says:

      I’m sure they’re strategizing carefully.

On the one hand, this has come out rather early, and probably can’t be sustained unless (until?) there are more such revelations.

On the other hand, this has forced the election campaign into Canadians’ consciousness in a way that can’t be ignored, starting it off on a very bad foot for Trudeau, and completely undermining the negative scaremongering campaign that the Liberals were obviously planning.

So overall, I’d say it’s a win for the Conservatives – not to mention the Greens and NDP.

  9. Nick says:

What I find most egregious about this blackface issue is that Trudeau withheld knowledge of the existence of the photos/video during the LPC vetting process in 2008 and since then violating party rules.

The apparent reason given for this is that he was embarrassed by them. In my view this is not only a sign of utter immaturity but is irresponsible and deceptive towards his own party members and the Canadian public.

Is this a man befitting the emotional maturity of one who deserves ( or ever deserved) to serve the Canadian public let alone be given the mantle of PM?

What worries me more, and I hope that we as a nation of multicultural people will evolve out of, is the collective syndrome of low self worth that feeds the perceived need to rely on such ‘heroes’ to rescue us from our situation.

This syndrome, in my view, is clearly evident in the LPC and nationally. In fact it appears that many Liberal Party candidates were specifically chosen because they had this syndrome and needed a leader to lead them to the promise land.

But, there comes a time when one must separate, individuate and become a woman/man who is emotionally mature, independent and true to themselves because without integrity and a sense of empowerment one only continues to exist as a helpless and easily led victim.

So, my question is: when will Canadians undertake the self reflection and personal growth required to summon up the powers of discernment, self esteem and courage to empower themselves to make self respecting choices?

Only then will we be able to call ourselves a proud nation and have that reflected in those who WE bestow the responsibility to represent us nationally and internationally.
