The Imposter

Is Gerald Butts an evil genius? Watched Great Leader Justin talk to his loyal Unifor media in Toronto today. They discussed how Scheer’s personal attacks against Justin, and Scheer’s negative campaign is causing threats against Groper. Why even “Greta” may be under threat when she goes to Alberta. Must be Doug Ford’s fault.

    • Phil says:

I remain convinced the story of needing a bullet proof vest is as manufactured as Turdo’s speech at his daddy’s funeral.

    • Jim R says:

Must be Doug Ford’s and Stephen Harper’s fault.

      TFTFY

    • RKJ says:

Further to your comments, these threats sound a little curious to me. One would assume personal security is always a priority for a prime minister – they don’t talk about it, just take precautions. Any chance Butts is seeking to curry sympathy for his brave leader? Makes for great photo ops and questions from a fawning media. My hunch is a “real deal” security threat would be handled with much more discretion.

Call me dubious here – this supposed threat resulted in way too many pictures of our fearless leader.

    • the real Sean says:

The real genius back room people are those you will never hear about, don’t usually write books (with the exception of WK and a few others), don’t appear on the nightly news, are not called before parliamentary committees and are never never never the focus of a campaign.

  2. joe says:

But, but, the CBC is all for Justin Trudeau. He is our Dear Leader. Beloved by all the people. All knowing, all wise. Sarc off

    In reality he is:
    – a liar – proven
    – doesn’t keep his promises – proven
    – unethical – proven
    – vindictive – proven
    – a costumed clown – proven
    – a hypocrite – proven

But he is the BEST the Liberals can be, and its disgusting.

    • Derek Pearce says:

He is not the best the Liberals can be, they have in the past and can in the future do much better than he. His leadership will be in shaky ground if he delivers anything less than a majority.

      • joe says:

They were better in the past. But now the Liberals all line up behind their Dear Leader and make endless excuses for his behaviour. Behaviours they would not tolerate from politicians of any other party. By doing so, they are saying “Justin is the best we can do”.

  3. Joseph says:

Or is it that he’s spent all his life pretending that there isn’t really a Justin Trudeau at all.

That would be the cue to play “I’m just a gigilo “ to a montage of all the role playing he’s done all his life including those years his parents used him as a prop for their own agendas.
His father used him to make voters think he was a good father. His mother used him as leverage against his father. The party used him.
    Butts is using him.
    He’s a puppet but a willing one.

  4. Harry Belafonte says:

Is is just me or is this threat really convenient? I mean, his numbers are bad and dropping, and now all of a sudden someone is going to threaten him?

If you ask me they drummed this up so they could have something to attack with and try to get their base to show up.

As for Scheers campaign, he is using Lib tactics. Taking things that nobody is dumb enough to do but some idiot proposes like Adam Vaughan. Libs tried this whenever someone in the back benches talked about abortion. Now they’re saying this is causing threats. This is why I detest them so much.

  5. Trevor says:

…. You could say he is a little darker than we originally imagined.

  6. Ronald O'Dowd says:

You people are really reaching. Do you actually think that RCMP security and tactical officers would be in any way complicit with regard to a false or manufactured threat? Jesus Christ. Get real folks. Even Scheer takes this threat against Trudeau seriously.

    • Max says:

“You people are really reaching.”? Yeah, like the RCMP would never fail to investigate corruption and obstruction of justice, like,,,, er,ah… um…. I dunno – SNC Lavalin. Or to be complicit (to use you word) in a ginned up charge and investigation to Rear Admiral Mark Norman. Nah, just reaching. Funny how you mention “even Scheer takes the threat seriously” and not Singh, the real threat at the ballot box. And do you really think any political leader – including Mad Max – would dismiss the threat as frivolous? “Get Real” indeed Mr. O’Dowd.

      • Ronald O'Dowd says:

        Max,

The RCMP SNC investigation is ongoing, although suspended as per standard election period operating procedure. As for corruption and OJ, doesn’t that fall within the purview of the DPP? I will give you your point on Norman where prosecutors proceeded on an alleged violation of cabinet confidence. Yes, in that case you’re on target as the charges were totally Trumped-Up. But this is more the fault of prosecutorial decision-making not police forces.

      • DanBC says:

If it was real, then, why was there no door security at the facility? That is now documented, none whatsoever. And,if the threat was real, why wasn’t the event cancelled outright, for security reasons? There was nothing urgent that this meeting couldn’t be cancelled without a problem. The backpacks lead a lot of questions too. There is something about the whole night that doesnt ring true, no wonder the legitimacy of the threat is in serious question, too many inconsistencies. and, not enough media questions. Just silence from the media darlings and Liberal.ca to satisfy if this was real.

    • Paige says:

I think it’s the blanket of secrecy thrown over the event that leads people to suspect possible Liberal malfeasance.
My biggest question is whether the threat came from the “yellow vest” brigade or the anti-pipeline ( the worldwill end in 10 yrs 2 months) crew. I can see not discussing the specifics of the threat but why wouldn’t we Canadians have a right to know who is threatening our political process?

      • Ronald O'Dowd says:

        Paige,

If it’s credible and extremely serious, it will eventually leak but not until the campaign is over. I suspect and am reasonably confident that it’s both.

      • Vancouverois says:

Why not from Quebec separatists? They’re another group that has a proven track record of violence, and Quebec is a lot closer to Mississauga than are Alberta or BC.

        • Ronald O'Dowd says:

          Vancouverois,

It’s not appropriate for you or me to try and peg this and make someone wear it without a shred of credible evidence. Think about that and about your usually fair-minded personal values. This is totally out of character for you. I know, I know, you’ve got a bee in your bonnet about separatists but geez.

And the FLQ was in no way close to being main stream separatist. You already know that. Why are you going down this road? Seriously!

          • Vancouverois says:

I’m not saying that it was; but if somebody’s going to speculate as Paige does above, they should certainly be in the list.

    • Harry Belafonte says:

If little Billy pulls the fire alarm and a fire truck shows up, are the complicit? No, of course not.

We’d just like to know who pulled the alarm. If it was someone from the right you can damn well be sure we’d have heard details by now.

    • Fred from BC says:

“You people are really reaching. Do you actually think that RCMP security and tactical officers would be in any way complicit with regard to a false or manufactured threat? ”

I’m not sure what to think about this, Ron…other than the fact that it is way, way too conveniently timed.

First of all, those guys with the Walmart backpacks are wearing Ranger insignia which may or may not be real (fonts, shape, etc). Secondly, Canadian Rangers *don’t do* protection of the Prime Minister (that’s the RCMP’s job). Then there are the weird anomalies like no one watching the entrance at all, automatic weapons (supposedly?) inside backpacks where they are all but useless, the unspecified ‘threat’ that no one will talk about during this Liberal-only event prompting the wearing of a bulletproof vest and all this extra security, and yet *the very next day* all threats have seemed to evaporate and JT is once again out in public unprotected and sans vest.

Something is very wrong here. Who are these guys, where are the RCMP and why is nobody acting like there is a serious threat?

      • Ronald O'Dowd says:

        Fred,

Would you, like me, suddenly change your long-held voting intention just because some group or individual had threatened the sitting prime minister? I know I wouldn’t. No one wants to see Trudeau harmed but that doesn’t mean a lot of us are suddenly voting Liberal because of this. It’s simply not logical as a political strategy. Even the Liberal WR isn’t THAT stupid.

        • Fred from BC says:

“Would you, like me, suddenly change your long-held voting intention just because some group or individual had threatened the sitting prime minister? I know I wouldn’t.”

Nor would I, but this could have been directed at the regular Liberal voters who are now leaning NDP or Green, couldn’t it?

“It’s simply not logical as a political strategy. Even the Liberal WR isn’t THAT stupid.”

I would have said that over the Robocalls incident (which was not the work of the CPC itself) or the Barbaric Cultural Practices hotline (which was). All of the various party strategists seem to treat the general public as if we are just children, with intellects and attention spans to match.

  7. Ontario John says:

Trump has a lot more enemies than Groper, yet all you see in his crowds are a few agents in suits with hidden Glocks. Justin being under threat a few days before the election sounds a little fishy to me. And both of Justin’s CBC and CTV networks were ramping up last night that “Angry Scheer” and the Conservatives are somehow responsible for this. Hmmmm.

  8. Max says:

Warren’s By-Line ‘The Imposter’ says it all. The fake security threat. Theatrics and high-drama all for show. “The brave leader who will not be deterred.” The guy has no shame. He uses the RCMP like Trump uses his Dept. of Justice. Firstly, any other leader would never, within minutes of donning a Kevlar vest, leak it to the media. Theses things tend to be confirmed much later – if at all – when all is said and done. Secondly, if there was a real threat in that enclosed space, why not lock it down and seal the doors? Search and find the source of the threat. It wasn’t like it was in the market square in an uncontrolled site. Even the Keystone Cops would have at least cancelled the event and sent everyone home. Instead the Liberals CHOSE to expose the media and 2000 people to an alleged assassin in their midst! Now, why would they do that? Hmmmm…. maybe Rosemary Barton and the CBC will show video footage of Justin and his Kevlar shirt. And talk about their brave Leader. One imagines Althea Raj and Gerry Butts clinking their glasses. Yeah, and wading into a crowd with his head exposed and vulnerable? Only a person secure in the knowledge of no threat would do that. Otherwise, how does one reconcile doing that whilst willingly exposing others to that same threat? And to have one of his Cabinet Ministers up on the stage, exposed to the threat? Me thinks Gerry and Katie created this and the RCMP do what they’re asked to do. But BFFs Gerry and Justin overplayed their hand. The phalanx of grim-faced special forces shielding Justin while he glad-handed like the fool he is was soooooo Un – Canadian. Apparently the Liberals will do anything to protect us from the Axis of Evil – Harper-Ford-Scheer. It’d be funny if it weren’t so pathetic. I can’t even watch the CBC anymore without thinking it’s become our ‘Fox News’.

    • Fred from BC says:

” Instead the Liberals CHOSE to expose the media and 2000 people to an alleged assassin in their midst! Now, why would they do that?”

Good catch. I had missed that one. If there was a credible threat of bullets flying there is NO WAY the RCMP would allow the public to be put into harms way like that.

Let’s hope reporters start to press for details.

    • DanBC says:

At least Fox News is privately funded, and has a choice, based on market prinicples, to take a position, love it or hate it, sink or swim by their advert revenue and total viewers.
When it comes to the Ceeb, its PRAVDA or TASS. State bought and paid for propaganda. That is sickening in a western society, for a 100% tax payer funded broadcaster!

      • Fred from BC says:

“At least Fox News is privately funded, and has a choice, based on market prinicples, to take a position, love it or hate it, sink or swim by their advert revenue and total viewers.”

I think that’s the position of most Conservatives. I can choose to watch Fox News or I can choose to watch CNN based on my political leanings, and in doing so I financially support whichever one I decide to watch. Not so with the CBC: I am forced to support them with my tax dollars no matter how unfair or biased I find their coverage, and for that reason I demand that they either be as impartial and unbiased as possible or lose their government funding and compete with the private networks on a level playing field.

Liberals, of course, completely disagree with this….and for the obvious reason.

  9. Ontario John says:

Gerald Butts needs to change his little hand puppet’s speeches once in awhile. This morning it was the same answers to all questions. Jason Kenney! Doug Ford! Harper! Scheer’s platform is a SECRET! Hidden agendas! Soldiers marching in the streets!

    • Fred from BC says:

I saw a Justin Trudeau TV ad last night, where he had a woman attacking Doug Ford. I laughed. Today I heard an NDP ad on the radio where they attacked Elizabeth May or abortion by bringing up Stephen Harper. I laughed again.

They really, really do think we’re that dumb, don’t they? Wow…

  10. Simple Simon says:

Ooh ooh yes I’m the great pretender (ooh ooh)
Just laughing and gay like a clown (ooh ooh)
I seem to be what I’m not (you see)
I’m wearing my heart like a crown
    Pretending that you’re still around

  11. Ontario John says:

What a difference between Groper’s press conference and Scheer’s press conference. This morning the Unifor media asked Blackface softball questions on how wonderful he is. Scheer just finished his conference in Winnipeg and the media were like attack dogs. Most of the questions were how dare you come to Winnipeg when the province is destroyed and people are starving in the streets. And of course Justin fan girl Katie Simpson at the CBC led the charge. Our Unifor media at work.

  12. Ferdinand Marcos from the great beyond says:

    Special Forces? I doubt it.

  13. Ronald O'Dowd says:

Hamish is off target and is damaging the Conservative brand by making Scheer “show” gravitas by attacking the bogeyman of a LIBERAL-NDP coalition…

You can’t show gravitas if you don’t already have it. THAT strategy worked for Harper cause the man oozed gravitas (among other things, less desirable). Scheer doesn’t even reasonably come close to that but then neither does Trudeau. Plus 2019 is not 2006-2014. Hello.

  14. Ronald O'Dowd says:

    Fred,

Contrast the above with the fact that no event, political or otherwise, can ever be guaranteed by anyone to be 100% secure, vest or no vest.

This is quickly heading down conspiracy road. It’s almost laughable. And guess which type of partisans are willingly lapping it all up? So sad and yet so predictable.

But because of all this foolishness, the RCMP needs to be proactive and come forward ASAP to clear the air.

    • Paige says:

I agree with your conclusion that the best thing for all is to clear the air ASAP. Earlier, I was judged to be “speculating” about the source of the potential threat. Not so. Speculation would be along the line of ” \Possibly it’s one of his jilted transgender lovers angry that he hasn’t left his wife as he promised at their last tryst.) See, that would be speculating, That would be an ugly unjustified thing to say and that’s why speculating is unjustified.
What’s needed is some clarity to defuse the conspiracy theorists. You know… sunlight is the best disinfectant… sunny ways …etc.

      • Fred from BC says:

“What’s needed is some clarity to defuse the conspiracy theorists. You know… sunlight is the best disinfectant… sunny ways …etc.”

Exactly. Just explain the parts that don’t make sense, and we can all move on.
