I am proud of the Prime Minister

I agree. But having left the party and returned to the CPC, because this PMO deliberately messed in the private lives of ordinary Canadians, I will add this: Trudeau has to prove to the country that he isn’t a new one-trick pony. And that can ONLY be done by summarily firing you know who in the PMO. Prime Minister, put up in your own office, or just shut up cause without the cleansing you’ll still come off as a phoney.

    • Mike says:

Really? You’re a con now? Say hello to all the white supremacists and kooky religious fanatics that hang out in the con party.

      • Ronald O'Dowd says:

        Mike,

Have you not read what Warren has steadily posted here on this website? Here’s a hint: the target party was not the CPC.

      • Fred from BC says:

“Say hello to all the white supremacists and kooky religious fanatics that hang out in the con party.”

Say hello to all the fascists and ‘woke’ SJW crybullies that hang out in yours.

        • Fred,

I’ve made the rounds of the parties (but I’m no Churchill LOL) and the common denominator across party lines is that most members are pretty much good, decent people.

Sure, every party has its share of whackos and assholes but thankfully they are generally in the minority and kept well under control.

          • Mike says:

‘That’s lame Ronald. You know damn well they are all Conservatives.

          • Ronald O'Dowd says:

            Mike,

I don’t know about you but I’ll let the reader determine which of our comments is more credible. (Smiling, again.)

          • Mike says:

Sorry Ronald. I was responding to your previous comment referring to the target party.
I actually agree with you on parties in general regarding their being good people except that I think whacked Cons are more dangerous by a long shot than whacko lefties.

        • Mike says:

Fascism (/ˈfæʃɪzəm/) is a form of far-right, authoritarian ultranationalism[1][2] characterized by dictatorial power, forcible suppression of opposition, and strong regimentation of society and of the economy[3] which came to prominence in early 20th-century Europe.[4] The first fascist movements emerged in Italy during World War I, before spreading to other European countries.[4] Opposed to liberalism, Marxism, and anarchism, fascism is placed on the far-right within the traditional left–right spectrum.[4][5][6]

          • Mike says:

Sound like someone we know who is orange and lives south of here?

          • Ronald O'Dowd says:

            Mike,

You should concentrate instead on TheJustinRescuePlanTM, you know, the one already prepared by this government to get the PMO over the upcoming humps in the Justice and Ethics Committees — the same committees where this Prime Minister and his staff refused to testify. You are smart enough to know that the PM has absolute no chance of regaining a majority in the next election if he doesn’t clean up his own mess first. Seems to me that PMO staff should be concentrating on that like a laser beam instead of going out of their way to run down the opposition. Remember what Pablo did in the Environment Committee under Harper? Keep that squarely in mind cause the opposition fireworks are on the way!

  2. Mike says:

Jeezus, I’m glad I’m not on twitter. That’s a lot of nasty people. Trudeau has his own Trudeau derangement syndrome people. Cool.

  3. Ronald O'Dowd says:

Harper had that exact same type of trouble in his PMO. It took quite a while before he acted, and God took care of the rest.

  4. Max says:

Warren, you’re compliments may possibly be misattributed. Could it be Gerald Butts deserves it?

    • Fred from BC says:

“Could it be Gerald Butts deserves it?”

I’ve considered that as well (having held a very low opinion of JT’s intellect over these last few years). The only problem I see is that if Butts is really telling him exactly what to think, do and say…what was he telling him for the previous 4 years? Act like a frat boy, and people will love you for your “youthfulness”? Do random, stupid things and people will laud you as a “free spirit”?

Or was this simply a matter of arrogance, whereby JT (I just can’t bring myself to call him Junior anymore, for some reason) listened to everything Butts and Telford advised him to do, but rejected it in favor of his own personal ‘style’?

  5. lyn says:

Let’s see if Junior has grown up let us see if he is man enough to say YES to the Teck Resources Frontier oilsands project that has passed all the Environment testing everything but the YES is yet to come…now the truth will come out. Is the government bit enough to say the right thing!!!

  6. Ronald O'Dowd says:

    NOT RELATED:

Go read The Star to discover that Harper allegedly is supportive of all leadership potential and actual candidates except some guy called Charest. Too funny.

And guess who predicted that same type of outcome from the membership? Charest is out in lala land thinking this is still the PCP. Get real, man.

    • Douglas W says:

“Go read The Star” — why? Terrible newspaper. A rag.
      Balanced commentary: Never.
“to discover that Harper allegedly is supportive” … allegedly? Says who? There was a time when deskmen spiked stories like this no matter which political party their owners supported.

  7. Douglas,

Here it is in La Presse:

  8. Douglas W says:

Poilièvre v Charest: all other contenders will quickly be relegated to the sidelines.

    • Ronald O'Dowd says:

Depends. If Ambrose takes a pass, it’s Poilièvre’s to lose.

      • Warren says:

If they pick him, they are actually going to do worse than they did with Scheer.

        • Mike says:

Couldn’t agree more. He’s an nasty little bugger.

        • Ronald O'Dowd says:

That’s fair. But this is all about party dynamics and the Alliance gets to call the tune. With Ambrose seemingly out, Social Conservatives, Libertarians and Blue Tories are the winning coalition that take you over the top and that clearly plays to Polièvre’s advantage. Plus no campaign manager can match Baird for political smarts and organizational know how.

  9. Douglas W says:

    Your network?
How come you’re not on Power & Politics?

    • Ronald O'Dowd says:

      Douglas,

Probably because my network is too Quebec focused. LOL.

In addition, I’m a nobody CPC just like I was a nobody LPC before that. Never lost any sleep over it!

  10. Gilbert says:

I disagree. Pierre Poilievre speaks better French than Andrew Scheer, doesn’t have an American passport, will not let social issues become a distraction and will win more seats in Ontario.

  11. I’m no longer uncommitted in this leadership race: as of today, I’m supporting Peter MacKay’s leadership bid.

    • Paige says:

Well that’s better than supporting Charest I guess.
I have been reflecting how shallow we all are, or at least I am. I was looking at Gladu’s story and it seems to tick all the boxes. Real world experience, engineer, apparently bilingual, woman, etc. The you see the picture the media is using and you see a nasty haircut with frizzy bangs and can’t help thinking less than flattering thoughts about lack of intellect. Image is so important.

      • Paige,

I’m hoping all the candidates will do what’s necessary to make this race an uplifting and positive experience. That means each of them will have to keep their people in line.
