Lying liars and their lies

‪Anti-establishment meaning inevitably gets absorbed by the establishment, and it always makes me want to throw up. It’s kind of like when someone who wears blackface tries to get himself photographed at a Black Lives Matter protest: it’s a lie. ‬

  1. Ronald O'Dowd says:

Only the most gullible in society could have fallen for that BS that Trump was anti-establishment when in fact he was already an integral part of the moneyed establishment. Sure, he was a Washington outsider but like those in DC was hardly averse to making donations to both parties and pulling every string he could find to get his way in business matters.

So, basically this is one of the best con jobs ever perpetrated on the American people and a plurality of same chose to swallow it down hard and with enthusiasm. You get the kind of leader you deserve after elections, and they sure got that.

    • Terence says:

No. Hart got 3 million more votes. Trump lost and benefitted from a phony electoral system.

      • Ronald O'Dowd says:

Technically I agree that Hillary got at least 3 to 4 million more votes but when you take California and New York out of the mix where so-called wasted votes were legion, that changes the picture to some extent. So you can’t chalk it all up to just the quaint anachronism of the Electoral College. But those who know the numbers better than I do could still prove me wrong.

  2. Ronald O'Dowd says:

Yeah, that’s why this government is unexpectedly a minority. Whose fault is that I wonder? Surely not the voters?

    • Maybe, maybe not. But I would save the bravado for when we have a leader. Not even you can predict how that will affect electoral outcomes going forward. Be honest enough to at least admit that. We’ll see what kind of a roll Trudeau is on, or isn’t, in the next campaign. So if you’re smart, you won’t pull the plug too fast because the big backlash might be just around the corner after that kind of a move. It’s like rolling the dice.

      • Ronald O'Dowd says:

Yeah, but the here and now has been known to change mighty fast. Remember that Liberal leader that almost no one but me predicted would win in 2015? And I said a majority.

Too bad I wasn’t as on target last time…but at least we dropped him some seats. It was memorable for them.

As Hillary said, that second result hurt my feelings. LOL.

  3. Walter says:

Like you say, the key is what they do when the camera is not on them.

In Trudeau’s case – he wore Blackface. He ridiculed MP Celina (Caesar-Chavannes). He kept “brown files” on potential minority voters.

In Donald Trump’s case, 10 weeks before George Floyd, he quietly appointed the first ever black US military Chief – General Charles Q. Brown.
