I am going to rob a bank tomorrow afternoon. Before I leave the house, I will call the police and bank security to alert them to the exact bank and the exact time. Upon entering said bank, I will don an awesome Justin Trudeau wig…. proceed to commit robbery in broad daylight…. and walk away free as a bird… because no one will believe it’s happening.

  2. the real Sean says:

I wonder if anyone will ever read all those books on the shelves behind him.

  3. Ronald O'Dowd says:

This Prime Minister has sunk his own government: first he scores a goal by saying this: he slowed down the decision making process because of the perception of his family’s connections to WE. That normally would work in his favour. He GETS IT so he temporarily applies the brakes.

But then the PM does the exact opposite before cabinet gives the go ahead: he doesn’t tell cabinet about alleged WE payments to his mother, brother and wife and then Mr. PerceptionSensitiveTM doesn’t recuse himself and the PS Finance Minister also does not recuse himself. They’re playing the Canadian people for gullible suckers and it won’t wash one bit. Sink these not so clever bozos ASAP.

  4. Gilbert says:

The prime minister didn’t look well at all. He seemed so uncomfortable and he looked really tired. His face was so red and swollen. When he said there was no conflict of interest when members of his family appeared at WE events and were paid, I wanted to ask him what he considers a conflict of interest.

  5. Joseph says:

The testimony is moot because it left a contradiction in place.

Was the “push back” the same as the multiple “requests “ made to an Attorney General for a deferred prosecution agreement for SNC?

  6. Martin says:

Someone found a Readers Digest Word Power article on the word “binary”.

  7. lyn says:

When the PM said he didn’t know Craig or Mark what a lie, the PM has done Video’s with them and been on stage with them, his family has worked for WE Charity for years…so does the PM think that everyone is so Stupid. The Taxpayers better wake up the Takers because they are the ones that Keep Voting this fake PM Trudeau! Enough is Enough!!

  8. Doug says:

The public service is entitled to its entitlements so will never vote Conservative. The Liberals know throwing public servants under the bus will at worst drive some of the vote to the NDP. The public service lost its mind over Harper’s relatively minor proposal to reign in its extraordinarily generous sick leave benefits.

    • Ronald O'Dowd says:

      Doug,

There is nothing more mighty in PublicServiceHeavenTM than your average upper echelon manila envelope…

  9. Derek Pearce says:

I wonder how long til the knives really start to come out. I don’t see how he can lead them into the next election.

    • Ronald O'Dowd says:

      Derek,

In short, they are stuck with him. The will try to hold the CPC to a minority and then turn to a miracle worker who can bring manna from heaven. That ain’t Freeland or anyone else in Trudeau’s Three Ring Circus and it’s definitely not Carney. Any takers? I can’t think of one who would have a decent clear shot.

    • Douglas W says:

Justin will be around for the next vote.

      No successor in sight.
(Plus, he’s exceptionally good at retail politics.)

      • Ronald O'Dowd says:

        Douglas,

Admittedly, most of us here are biased including myself but I think Lyn hit the opposition election campaign theme right on the head when she said: “Enough is Enough!!”

        • Douglas W says:

Ronald, the Liberals will win the next election because they’ll say: “if you encounter tough financial times, we’ll give you the financial assistance you need.

“Those other guys (CPC), they’re not going to help you because they have no compassion.”

          The compassion card sells.
It resonates with people and their fears that hardship might hit them soon.

          • Douglas,

True, except the CERB reimbursements have already begun. I thought they were bright enough to wait until after the election before clawing back the money. (Apparently not.)

    • Walter says:

The thing is – I think every Liberal MP realizes that they are incompetent. The only reason each and every one of them got elected was by riding on Trudeau’s famous name and nice hair.
None of them could be elected based on ability – so their only chance is to cling to Trudeau and hope the media and the public forgive him for an 87th time.

      • Ronald O'Dowd says:

        Walter,

Can’t agree with this. Sure, this is probably one of the weakest cabinets and MP bench in recent history but like in all governments, you have a few exceptional, many good MPs, a lot of mediocre members and their fair share of incompetents and imbeciles. It’s just that Team Trudeau has more of the latter category than most previous governments.

  10. Gilbert says:

I’m disappointed in Marc Garneau. Doesn’t he have the courage to distance himself from the prime minister? He’s been very quiet.

    • Ronald O'Dowd says:

      Gilbert,

Garneau has already said publicly what no other Minister would: that no one told him about alleged WE payments to Trudeau family members. He is to be commended for that.

Full disclosure: I supported Garneau for leadership.

      • Douglas W says:

Garneau, a steady hand and the (eventual) likely successor to Justin Trudeau.

        • lyn says:

Douglas W: I agree he has been one of the most loyal steady Liberals to the Party. I’m not sure if he is still loyal to Trudeau. I always thought he would have been the better person for PM. I hope he gets a chance.

  11. Joseph says:

His testimony did not resolve any of the contentions that something wrong happened.
He said he pushed back, but did not clarify what the push back was.
Did he issue a written directive or was it a verbal suggestion? Was it to a single individual, or to several?
Was this done person to person? That would be suspect as it was implied that he had isolated himself to the Governor General estate so it if a verbal direction/suggestion was made it would have been done over the phone (call record) text ( phone record) or by video conferencing (record would exist). So was it one individual being directed or several? Would those individual(s) be allowed to speak freely or will they be subjected to some confidentiality restriction?

Somewhere, there is someone that can confirm his pushback story or this is a fabrication which will be found out. If the later, it brings a whole other scandal in play.

Most of the unanswered questions could have been resolved had Trudeau provided a “yes” or “no” as a response to the ones asked by the committee members. His conditional responses gave credibility to his critics that he is hiding something.

If he was hoping to clear this up, he didn’t really help by providing testimony that only left more questions than answers.

    • lyn says:

Joseph: Apparently Trudeau shouldn’t have been at the meeting he was in violation of the Conflict of Interest Act and should have recused himself completely. So the only pushback he could have given would have to do with Recusing himself which he didn’t do!! Trudeau said he did pushback was a cry for let me GO!! This is only the umpteenth time I have been caught doing something illegal!! PM Trudeau needs to step down he has no concerns about breaking the LAW! BUT heaven forbid if YOU did off to jail!
