Some guy I met was interested in getting one of my paintings. Here he is with it. Nice guy.

A buddy of mine once said that he was the Def Leppard of Canadian politics… IE: you didn’t always understand what he was saying but it sounded awesome.

Not sure about the painting but that guy looks like four more years!

It’s so nice to see this gentleman smiling. Got to admit that I was wondering how he was doing since Aline’s unfortunate passing. Chr├ętien is still what he always has been — a fighter — and he’s taking on life with relish. Very pleased to see that and I wish him and his family well.

      + 1

BTW, I was part of that group of YLs who started that spontaneous “4 more years” chant at the 2000 convention. I’ll never forget it.

Never sold on your politics (other than your rock-solid active opposition to Nazis of all stripes) but wanted to remark that your tribute several months ago to Mme. Chr├ętien was the finest writing I’ve seen on your website in the ~15 years I’ve been reading it and the finest piece of writing I’ve seen anywhere in the last year. Why? Because , I suppose, it was -as your man might say – from the heart.

RIP, Aline; Long May You Run to that man from Shawinigan; and to you and your clan, best wishes.

I see your old boss has a security motion detector in the corner of the room, so if some low-life art thief tries to abscond with your creation, there will be a deterrent alarm triggered!!

I never voted for him personally. And I almost always disagreed with him politically. But it is wonderful to see him smile again after the passing of Madame Aline.

So nice to see PM Chretien well and going strong. I was never a political supporter and worked elections for his opposition but am so glad to see from the comments that most people know that politics are a means to an end, not a be all and end all. Blessings and strength, Le Petit Gars de Shawinigan.

I remember going to a rally for Toronto area volunteers when I canvassed for my Liberal MP for the 2000 election and he was such a natural, he gave an off-the-cuff but barn burner of a speech and he mentioned Laurier, King, Pearson and PET and he had us eating out of his hand. The only other times I’ve clapped and cheered like that have been at rock concerts.
