Every single thing Justin says / does on Indigenous issues is carefully crafted… to satisfy the concerns of moderately attentive, wealthy white people.

The Trudeau Liberals know that their only chance in the next election is to keep voters bought off, asleep and/or ignorant of this Prime Minister’s phoney baloney. Otherwise, they not only lose but lose big.

IMHO, Canadians are not only sick of the dreaded menace, COVID-19, but also of that transparently fake, poor excuse for a competent prime minister. And if 1+1 = 2, that means kicking his government’s sorry ass to the curb come the election. A crucial political cleansing that is long overdue.

  3. Ronald O'Dowd says:

Well, well, with McKenna out and Carney in (of course Carney is in) life suddenly gets interesting (to keep it polite) for Trudeau.

He should thank his lucky stars that Carney is no Paul Martin — at least not yet. So, this PM is safe on his perch for now. Of course, if a lower-level civil war erupts in the party, things could get interesting.

Those of us in opposition wouldn’t mind that one damned bit. LOL.

Mark Carney is no Paul Martin. Good assessment. Paul Martin would never even consider permanently poisoning his professional reputation by signing his name to nomination papers while Justin remained as leader.

If Carney joins this cabinet, it will probably be the last job he ever has in public life.

As for the Ottawa Bubble Talk of an election, there’s no way in hell that Trudeau will drop the writ as long as the new GG is not in place. Of course, it would be to their advantage to fast-track that process and more than likely, that’s exactly what they’ll do.

Once the GG is in office, then off to the races they go.

    • irreversible road map to freedom says:

Why not? They might even announce the GG nomination mid campaign… I’m sure Gerald and Katie have been doing focus groups on nominating a person whose qualifications / background are only about baiting / humiliating Conservatives.

Well, for one thing The Administrator would be none too pleased to be left presiding over an overtly political act taken by a purely partisan prime minister. These things are quite simply just not done to a member of an impartial judiciary. Way beyond gauche and maladroit.

  5. Peter Williams says:

Justin keeps saying he’s committed. Then he turns and thanks you for your contribution.

  6. Phil in London says:

In what world does dear leader have to adhere to silly tradition and rules? It’s true Ron, a prime minister should not ordinarily call an election while the GG is interregnum. This is no ordinary Prime Minister. Justin black-face the anti-feminist-feminist Trudeau doesn’t have to follow the rules of mere mortals. He’s Justin fucking Trudeau, he can do what he wants. He can appoint appoint himself GG than as GG he can appoint himself prime minister and save us all the agony of an election. After he’s sworn in he can tell the queen he no longer needs her help to run his fan club, I mean country. He can than print new paper and coinage money with his profile on each note, engrave some puppy dogs and rainbows on the background and bask in how great he is and how lucky we are to have him lead us.
