Respectfully, Brian is wrong. Trump only understands force. That is the only way we can get him to back down and remove the tariffs. The United States was a Johnny-come-lately during two previous world wars, and so will it be when Putin inevitably invades Eastern Europe. That will force Trump’s hand. Either they come in, or Putin gets all of Europe.

The mainstream media, by and large, have decided to give Carney a free pass, even after he became Prime Minister. So, that’s one hell of a problem for the opposition parties. The CBC and most of the rest of them want to and will try to choreograph a Carney-Liberal win.
That is a very polite way of saying the whole bunch of them need to get a room with Art and, of course, Andy lives in Rosedale! They are all in. Those couples making 360k a year and keeping some of their OAS are going to be able to keep the party going. Only cost them 1750.00 each. Small price to pay. Probably celebrating at their cloistered cocktail parties over brandy snifters and charcuterie boards served to them by NDP waiters that have somehow bought Art’s schtick.

Counterpoint to Tasha about the fact that the Tories shouldn’t highlight Art’s business experience. Why not? It depends what that experience entailed. Trump had a lot of business experience too.
And Goldman Sachs basically helped to cause almost a worldwide financial crash shortly after his 13 year career there ended. What did he do there exactly? And Brookfield is a union busting, tax avoiding, dirty energy investing company that moved its headquarters to the US under Art’s watch. Lots of questions. The fact that many in the NDP are lining up arm in arm and in solidarity with various and sundry Canadian billionaires boggles my mind.
I’d rather have a beer with Carney. Poilievre is an obnoxious person, not a hoag at all, but a nasty, insulting, Trump-Maga man.

Mark Carney is an elitist, who pretends to be interested in ordinary Canadians. The question is how well he can fool people. I don’t believe for one second he wants to eliminate the carbon tax. His plan must be to recycle it with a different name at a later date. He’s the type of person who will say and do anything to get elected. I hope Canadians see through him.
He’s already eliminated the carbon tax, and as per usual the conservatives spin this into some nonsense conspiracy.

I’m of the view that Carney absolutely will revive the carbon tax in some hidden form if he wins. However, it’s clunky and stale for the CPC to try and articulate that valid view to the electorate, so they’d be better off dropping the issue. I think we’re all sick of hearing “axe the tax”, unless the tax in question refers to income tax.
