  1. Warren,

Sanctimonious, without Harper’s modicum of charisma. A real winner…

  2. Warren,

Want to know why he’s already in real trouble? Simple. Because the cowardly anonymous noises are not coming out of Ottawa or Toronto. They’re coming straight at him out of Calgary and Edmonton. That means serious and growing shit ahead for him. Like I said, he’s laughing at all of us. He won’t even throw SaintByrneTM to the lions.

  3. Warren,

E.’s got more sparks than New Year’s Eve.

  4. Ben,

Not quite. Chamberlain was in Churchill’s cabinet. Chamberlain wasn’t about capitulation. He was about buying time to rapidly rearm. He knew Hitler was bent on war no matter what was signed at Munich. Munich was nothing more than a pause between two World Wars. When Chamberlain died in office Churchill said what will I do without him? Pretty much says it all.

  5. Warren,

We already have FTAs with the UK, EU and Trans Pacific so how much more can ConCarneyTM do? People fell for this progressive BS when he’s a Blue Liberal intent on not meaningfully rocking Trump’s boat. That means either no deal or only one that favours Trump. Simple as pie.

  6. Warren,

On Putin. Two points: only the surgically-altered double dares to leave Russia for ages now. Secondly, purging generals will only cut Putin so much ice. He needs a breakout in Ukraine fast. His personal survival may quite literally depend on it. There are only so many windows and balconies in Russia. That strategy won’t work forever.

Crack Cloud and Winona Fighter tracks great. Crack Cloud track has some Pumped Up Kicks vibe and the band has an interesting back story. NRVS track is find of the week though.

Kinsella must really and truly think Pierre is really and truly screwed because he normally follows up one of those top ten columns with another one taking the other side.

I liked Chris’ quote about Web-he knows how not to offend people who did not vote for him. So true. I find it very very difficult to dislike him.

No matter who the leader ends up being, the Conservatives don’t have to “build back” anything. They just need to hold while the public sector goes back to the NDP(how’s that silly elbows up infatuation working out for them?). And there are going to be lots of inconvenient numbers floating around once our brilliant businessman leader finally gets around to reporting to the “owners”:

“Even with cuts, Carney’s spending is still off the charts”

      I really think he’s screwed.

    • Martin,

Except the public sector and women will never, ever, go back to the NDP as long as you know who is our leader. To understate it: both those groups hate his fucking guts far more than they could ever be pissed off with Carney. That’s reality, man. Yup, we will LOSE again next time. Count on it.

      • Curious v says:

He was never liked, or likeable. Pierre has asshole written on his forehead; he comes off as a jerk. The conservatives will never vote for a pc, something they’ll have to do to win

  9. Curious,

Well, if we are THAT collectively S-T-U-P-I-D, then we deserve to lose the next five elections in a row.

  10. Gilbert says:

I’m not sure Pierre has to go. Jagmeet is out, so the NDP should improve. PM Carney hasn’t impressed me, and I expect Pierre back in the House of Commons soon. I’ve heard Jenni Byrne’s contract hasn’t been renewed. If that’s true, it’s good news.

    • Gilbert,

You know what happens with the NDP when they get decimated: they split into two not easily reconcilable factions in a very fractious leadership race. That’s coming next. They will eat their young. Translation: progressives and others on the left will keep themselves hitched to the Carney Liberals. Were our current leader named Charest, the disillusioned would be moving to the CPC in considerable numbers. But not with this guy. Not a chance.

      • Martin Dixon says:

I guess we will see. Whenever I mock the left for falling for Carney’s shite, I get just as many likes from lefties as I do from righties. Latest was about his proposed VIA rail cuts.

    • Gilbert,

Well, surprise, surprise! The business relationship between JBA and the CPC has not changed one bit. Our jackass is laughing at us. Hope he loses.

  11. Warren,

Our genius has come out against the long ballot. People don’t give a shit about him. Roughly 35% of eligible voters are likely to vote. The leader will win while most eligible voters will have voted not interested in voting. Speaks volumes. Even in AB, they’re sick of this guy’s face.

  12. Warren,

Now we have our first confirmation that the leader is in trouble: there’s disagreement in the OLO as to whether the leadership review vote should go ahead as scheduled in January or whether it should be put off to some as yet unspecified date. That means that at least part of his entourage fears the review result if the vote goes ahead as scheduled. Music to my ears. Politically speaking, he’s in paper tiger mode, and that’s great news for those of us who want to dump him as leader.
