Yes, you did play Bad//Dreems in January. Cuffed and Collared. The one that channels Last Train To Clarksville and is a banger. Hoping For a banger too. Channels The Go-Go’s We Got The Beat.

  2. Warren,

Brian is dead wrong. Macron proposes to recognize the PA in the West Bank as a Palestinian state. I oppose that as long as the hostages remain in Gaza. Sloppy reporting.

  3. Warren,

I concede the point that the UN did not want to send in the trucks. Ask yourself why? Of course, part of it is pure politics since they collectively loathe Netanyahu. (Who doesn’t.) But the other thing has to do with shots fired at aid trucks that were delivering life-saving necessities in Gaza but were “unauthorized.” The IDF is looking into that. We’ll see how that one goes. Colour me skeptical. He’s undermining support for Israel and everyone knows it.

  4. Warren,

I agree with the official-agent thing. Reform is needed there. Yeah, got to focus on the serious candidates.

  5. Warren,

In Quebec, you can drive alone at 16. I’m for lowering the voting age to 16. Have always been.

  6. A flawed messenger doesn’t negate the legitimacy of the message.

  7. English Canada is still too buttoned-up. What else is new? Look how long it took to get beer in convenience stores…totally ridiculous.

  8. I was in the room when Rodriguez became QLP leader, and by far, the most idealistic, optimistic, and enthusiastic supporters of the various candidates were the young people aged 16 and up.

  9. Warren,

The power dynamic at work. But we must respect the decision.

  10. Warren,

You bail them out but only with conditions regarding modernization of the mill, increased productivity and output. No more free lunches.

  11. Almost no one objected when Trump moved the embassy to Jerusalem. Most of us followed. And the same will inevitably happen when France and others recognize the Palestinian state in RAMALLAH.

  12. But it will be a disaster as long as Abu Mazen is in charge. Corruption is endemic, and the ruling families there are making out like bandits. What else is new?

  13. Martin Dixon says:

The EU must be better at flapping their elbows around than we are.

  14. Sean says:

Wouldn’t usually say this but Brian Lilley is dead wrong. There never was any hope of a deal.

No…. the deals other countries have…. are not real.

We are in for 3.5 years of wild guesses from the American side or until they wise up and remove Trump.

“Elbows up” isn’t about making deals, its about f$%k you to America until it gets its house back in order.

    • Sean,

      +200%

Trump is such a laughingstock and incompetent; he can’t even negotiate his way to the can. None of these framework deals will bear fruit. Just more of the same: part of the Trump con job. He’s slipping, though, no personal grifting.

  15. Derek Pearce says:

Jesus Christ on crutches Lilley, “we’re the problem”? Really– if this is going to be The Sun’s editorial stance then your paper is going to find it offside with the vast majority of Canadians who are willing to have no deal rather than one that kowtows the orange asshole.

Also, the only country that seems to have a deal is Japan– the whole EU thing was a premature announcement by Drumpf that looks nothing like the “framework” the EU has agreed to. We can wait.

  16. Martin Dixon says:

Doesn’t really matter whose “fault” it is. The situation is what it is and I remain convinced like I have from the start that it will sort itself out no matter where our elbows are.

    • Martin,

Largely depends on the definition of sorting out.

      • Martin Dixon says:

I mean in a few years I will be mocking those folks(sorry, still mocking) that viewed this as some sort of existential threat that had people running around flapping their elbows up and down so much they voted against their best interests in the ballot box. And I say that even given the news last night.

        • Well, Martin, if your definition of our best interests includes putting our dud of a leader in the PM’s chair, then your definition is quite different from mine. Canadians sized up this guy as a mega-loser who couldn’t win an election if his life depended on it. And then they voted accordingly and will do the same again next time when the Carney snap election comes, probably next spring.

  17. Martin Dixon says:

Where are we supposed to put our elbows now?
