    The ad that changed everything?
Well, nothing has changed in the past half year.
Secondly, if the White House truly wanted a deal, it would have been negotiated by now.
Thirdly, Trump wants chaos and uncertainty.
Sooner rather than later, this will be to his detriment

You should likely make a playlist for what you want played at your funeral. Pretty sure you have mentioned JD/NO before. Hard to believe the genesis of The None was by The Bloc Party bassist. One thing is not like the other.

Going to add one more song from the same upcoming album that our host previewed a single from a couple of weeks ago if he will permit me. This one was out this week. It is my new favourite band this week(mine rarely last a month):

On the political front, really, there is not much to say about Carney until he actually releases a budget. The folks that think he is doing a great job until that happens crack me up. There are literally no facts in evidence to make that claim.

Oh, I do find the fact that the whole country could be cheering for a team full of MAGA supporters(why don’t the folks that aggressively went after actual Canadian heroes look into that-I am looking at you Cathal Kelly) kind of funny.

And those that bought tickets to see the World Series in LA and the playoffs in Seattle and somehow rationalized it by saying that they just didn’t spend as much are also quite funny.

  3. Warren,

Watch what this government and PM does in response to Trump raising the tariffs by ten percent. If they go out of their way to lay that at Ford’s feet, that will telegraph for all to see the dismal state of Canada – United States trade talks. If they stick only to their response, we will have reason to believe that talks are in a better place than a lot of people think.

  4. Warren,

POS didn’t have a problem with the ad until he spoke with the JewishNaziTM who told him that the ad was working in spades and causing incredible damage to the Trump Administration and brand.

  5. Warren,

Carney is a corporatist Blue Liberal. No way is he a Progressive Conservative.

  6. Nick M says:

    Ottawa-washed? Sounds fitting.

Mark Carney has never knock on any doors to get where he has gotten. He is the first PM to never kiss a baby.

Worst of all, according to the government website, he still hasn’t opened a constituency office. How are Nepean constituents to resolve constituency related issues?

I’m not worried about the trade talks, or the impact of this ad in terms of any negative response. It’s a brilliant ad, because, like Warren says, it’s effective in splitting off a big chuck of republicans from Trumps supposed ideological consensus. And, Carney is in a position to open talks without too much animosity because he didn’t buy the ad space. I think it’ll be okay, and the ad only strengthens Canada’s position within a key demographic – Republicans who have always been in favor of free trade.

    • Curious,

The ad is basically a wash because it will not move the dial toward negotiation of amendments or additions to CUSMA-USMCA. Whether Republicans are for free trade or not is a secondary consideration. Most of the Senate are free traders and yet almost no one has condemned Trump’s various tariffs as being harmful for the average American. Ads will not break Americans from MAGA. Losing their health insurance will. But when?

In terms of housing we all need it. There’s a shortage across the country of accessible affordable housing. I’m in favour of a graduated process where recovering addicts live independently with some supervision, and then graduate to independence when they are able. And Im not disagreeing with mo, for once – I think they have to take addicts off the street, help them, then integrate them back into society after they’ve secured housing and licked their addiction – could take a decade in cases, like Ben said –

    • Sean says:

      100%

Without housing the whole thing is a wasted of time and money. The only way to make it work is to eliminate those stressors.

I think Warren and Brian are spending too much time trying to analyze Trump. He’s worthy of the level of analysis afforded to the last drunk who stumbles out of a bar at 3:00 AM and stumbles into a pile of trash covered in urine and laughs about it.

There is no rhyme or reason. It’s all meaningless nonsense all the time. The tariffs are happening for two reasons:

    1. To deliberately cause dips in the stock market that he and his family can profit from.

    2. To get attention on TV.

The only analysis required is how everyone can pretend to take this guy seriously for the next 3.5 years and how to placate him when his inevitable mental collapse begins.

There is no deal with China or any other country. Its all fake, none of it means a word.
