Kingston: Yeah yeah yeah

Crisis now passed, I can reveal I spent all of last night on a chair in Emerg at KGH.  Watched the sun come up over the lake, afterwards, so things must have worked out okay.  Brought home a rock, which I’m going to paint.  Long story.

As I tore through the night along that goddamned highway – that infernal strip of asphalt – I heard this tune again on XM.  These guys are from Denmark or something.  Their name is a stinker, but the tune is a killer.  Certainly keeps you up, when you’re heading East at about 3:00 a.m.  Recommended.

Sounds like you had a kidney stone.

It’s tempting to make a jibe about a sudden attack of your conscience.

Hope all is well, and great song.

    A painted rock. Beautiful.

    Life goes on, right?

Warren, I didn’t mean to sound glib about a kidney stone. My hubby went through a very rough time recently with kidney stones and ended up having surgery and other problems related to it – was a very sick guy. I guess kidney stones were on my mind when you said “crisis passed” and rock.

If you wish you had kidney stones instead – it must have had a serious issue.

Sorry and hope all is okay now.

Hey, glad to hear that all is well. Take care of yourself.

Can you tell us where it hurt(s)?

Hopefully it was transitory; or, if an ongoing problem, is related to diet or food intolerances — like gluten sensitivity / celiac disease (which can literally be a pain in the ass & more when its irritable bowel syndrome, & be downiright scary before being diagnosed when there’s blood in the stools & it might be cancer, but which can be completely fixed by purging the diet of wheat, barley (esp. beer!), rye, & cross-contaminated oats).

But Praise the Tommy you are in Canada (& were back in, in time, from your vacation) & didn’t have to be made of money to get quick medical attention when you felt you were in peril.

When my son was very young and his asthma wildly out of control, we were frequent visitors to the local emerg. It is frightening enough to sit waiting for your child’s O2 levels to improve without having to worry about who is going to pay for the medical care. One can only hope that our friends to the south come to realize how valuable that peace of mind is and don’t over punish the Democrats this fall.
