Where’s the chapstick?

This YouTube clip is a sensation – and it has been watched nearly nine million times (and likely many more, because it’s in many different places on the web).  My daughter accounts for maybe a third of that number.  She can’t stop watching it.

Facebook (and here), ringtone, fan club, MySpace, Twitter feed, and merch site (natch).  Her name’s Gabby Londe; she’s a kid, and this video made her famous.  You can write to her fan club here.

Feel like a whole world is happening out there, and you didn’t even know?  Welcome to the club, bub.

It’s impossible to comment on this without sounding really old – so I am going to give it as pass. I would be interested in hearing what the infamous, anti-establishment MP Tony Clement has to say about it.

    • Paul R. Martin says:

I am sure that Tony Clement thinks that the census has no legitimate reason to collect information on chapstick. The government has no right to know what you put on your lips. Furthermore, lip balm sales data is part of the overall retail sales number. Publishing data on sales of a brand such as “Chapstick” would give its competitors privileged information.

      Keep smiling Jan!

Perhaps the best part of this video is the growing realization, as you are watching it, that Gabby has more talent than many of the rap / hip-hop stars out there right now.

  3. Cath says:

The federal LPOC should consider hiring Gabby as the lead act at the next “Open Mike” event. The NP’s got a funny piece about “Open Mike” Bullard that is….not Mr. Ignatieff. Do you think that Ignatieff’s handlers should have filled the leader in that “Open Mike” has been used before?

Man, the stuff I have watched on your recommendation! (did love that Blood Buzz video tho).

I don’t know whether to laugh or to cry. 🙂
