Kelly McParland nails it

…and he uses his own name, too.

Good point Warren. You are well aware that I do use my own name here despite its similarity to that of a former politician.

HA!! There are now cashiers in some department stores that take only..cash. No debit or credit..they say it speeds up the lines. And the internet is no longer a place where you can make vile and slanderous statement and claim anonymity. What’s next, teenagers walking to a friends house to talk?

Good- it’s about time something nudged the status quo on this issue.

‘Pen names’ existed long before the Internet was ever invented, and their equivalents on the Internet serve many useful purposes. If an individual makes gratuitous insults on a Web site, the administrators of the Web site must ensure that it is not published. That’s what you do, Warren. Others must as well.

So do you think you can get the Sun to stop allowing anonymous comments on their site or at least require posters to actually register and give an email address? Not only do people post anonymous comments to Sun articles, they post “black propaganda” comments using the names of real people they want to smear. Most other newspaper comment pages at least require posters to register.
