The only reason I agreed to be interviewed?

The author worked at The Charlatan. I have a soft spot for people who worked at the greatest student newspaper in the world.

    If you don’t watch out, there’s a grave danger of you becoming the Tony Clement of the Grit lobbying community.

    Um, so how come “the greatest student newspaper in the world” makes such a glaring error in the timeline on the sidebar (ran Dalton’s war room in ’93 & ’96?!) ?

      oh, okay… the greatest was where the author work_ed_, not where this is appearing now (which clearly isn’t so great in it’s attention to detail; hopefully those Lawyers Weekly editors don’t become lawyers themselves).

    (pause to wipe inattentive egg off my face for misspelling “it’s”)

    Speaking of kudos for student journalists:

    turns out the whole Oda Ado was broken by a Carleton journo student while doing an internship at a Guelph paper;

    she was pursuing the local angle (KAIROS has some employees from Guelph), was trying to puzzle out the reason for the defunding, saw through the bafflegab, so did the FOI request

    they stalled, they stonewalled, they buried her in docs when they finally complied, but she persisted and uncovered the curiously altered document.

    cheers to supporting your alma matter, WK. I enjoyed the Charlton during my freshman year at Carleton before transferring to UWO. Won’t you consider that a student paper that is published 4x each week – with news, entertainment, editorial and sports in each edition is more worthy of the ‘best student paper’ award ?
