CPAC’s ‘The War Room’

This aired the other night, I believe, and I didn’t see it until now.  It’s got people in it a lot smarter than me, and Catherine did a great job of pulling it all together.

    Interesting reading methinks!

Do they really think that or do they just want supporters of others parties to take their gas off the pedal for the weekend.

What a classic… that movie immortalized the ragin cajun. The guy knows how to win – I just wish he would have sided with Obama instead of Clinton…

Now such a key part of political campaigns, why no “war room” activities BETWEEN elections? In the most obvious case, if it was too much to expect for Ignatieff to overcome in 5 weeks the attacks made against his character over the previous 28 months, why weren’t the counter-attacks made earlier? As one commenter said in response to Saturday’s CBC “wheels on the bus” report about Iggy’s views on electoral reform:

“As ‘shameful’ as the ‘shafting’ of Iggy may have been, far more outrageous was his response–NOTHING. A lie repeated often enough becomes ‘truth.’ A lie left unchallenged becomes ‘fact.’ What makes this all the more exasperating is that it was a repeat performance–the exact same thing was done to Dion. To paraphrase the cliche ‘definition of insanity,’ Iggy did the same as Dion, yet expected a different result….”

I caught part of it roughly at the point with wk leaning on Jean Chretien.
Warren…oh when we were young, slimmer, hair on our heads
    those were the days
other then that a very informative movie on the turning points and the inside of a war room

The scene where George Stephanopoulos talks that person out of making a “Bimbo revelation” re: Bill Clinton is unbelievable. Better than fiction.

I like CPAC’s coverage. I like the pieces that they do on individual ridings. The Macleans and CPAC thing was pretty good, and Scott Taylor’s documentary on the fighter jet purchase was also quite good. They aired a debate just on agriculture; I hope they got good feedback on that and do more of those issue specials next time an election happens.

Chinese Tea House AKA a rub & tug… The big question is, was it the grits or the cons who let the tea out of the kettle?

Sun Media must really have it in for the Tories. This last minute smear on Layton can only cause a blowback on the CPC war room that has already being caught in a fake Ignatieff smear this week. It may be enough to put Layton into small minority and save the Liberals bacon.

Unbelievably stupid move by the Harper campaign and their propaganda arm Sun Media.

    • MCBellecourt says:

You expected any different? It’s the same type of right-wing stupidity that has turned the U.S. into a parody of its former greatness.
