Maybe Iggy should have adopted Harper’s one-size-fits-all response pre-programmed of course:
“That simply isn’t true”. (implying the asserter is a liar as an extra benefit)
In this case, iggy would have been right.
In Harper’s case, using the phrase will tend to mean that ‘yes, it is true’.
Doubt the home audience is keeping score.
