OAKVILLE, Ont. – Premier Dalton McGuinty is urging Opposition Leader Tim Hudak to come clean about his stance on abortion.
In Oakville today, the Liberal premier said voters are looking for clarity on the important issue ahead of the fall election.
McGuinty says he supports a woman’s right to choose and all party leaders owe it to voters to be clear about their position on the issue.
Hudak appears to be shying away from his previous anti-abortion stance, saying he doesn’t plan to re-open the issue if he wins the Oct. 6 vote.
But he has refused to say if he still opposes abortion, walking away from the microphone Monday when reporters asked repeatedly if he still considered himself pro-life.

The Ontario Liberals are cleverly following the “monkey scat” strategy of throwing everything at their opponent in the hopes it will stick. This winning formula was perfected by the federal Liberals in the 2011 election.

I honestly think that voters look at stories like this and think: “Gee, those Liberals must be getting really desperate.”
Why? Because most people aren’t too worried about abortion. They know that nothing’s going to change on that file, because when it comes to a woman’s right to choose, nothing has changed in Canada in the last two decades.
Team McGuinty is taking a huge risk by playing the abortion card right now. It reeks of desperate fearmongering by a party trapped in a death spiral.

Nothing has changed because the politicians who win are absolutely aware that abortion is the electric third rail for many voters – particularly women. I know of several who absolutely loathe McGuinty but are now watching how Hudak evades, and deciding he simply cannot be trusted.

Apparently Khailil Ramal the Liberal MPP for London-Fanshawe has told Campaign Life that he wants to stop all public funding of abortion. Will McGuinty stand up for his principles and expel this anti-abortion freak from the Liberal caucus???

The silence of Hudak shold be no surprise. when in the lead in the polls say nothing. The odd thing is that in my opinion, none of this willl matter in October. People In canada are now responding to populism. Proven by Harper, Ford, now Hudak.
But as can be seen by Harper and his prison costs already doubling with no change in crime rates and Fords gravy-less gravy train, these leaders will set their countries, provinces, cities back decades. The question is, will anyone care?
