Candid assessment of Tea Party Tim’s performance

…by a reporter who joined his bus today:

Instead, he talked about “Bob” and “Jim”, two life-size posters of forestry workers. It was an attempt to illustrate the supposed unfairness of the immigrant workers tax credit, but mostly backfired as the stand-up cardboard figures eminated more charisma than the Tory leader.

Does the tax credit scheme even apply to forestry jobs?

I was going to ask the same thing… I expect not… unless they have a PhD in Forestry or something… at which point you probably wouldn’t know they worked in forestry by looking at them…

I’m amused that their “foreign worker” has a benign name like Bob, and is from a “foreign country” like the USA. I guess using someone Arabic or Indian would be too racist.

I think what he was trying to say — but the message was sort of lost in the inanity of it — was “Look out, comfy white man. You’re not safe from this either!”
