Harper hat trick, part ad infinitum

The senior Harper aide who authored a missive to Conservative MPs discouraging their participation in provincial election campaigns has turned around and held a fundraiser at his own home for Tim Hudak’s Progressive Conservatives.

Nigel Wright, the Prime Minister’s chief of staff, opened up his swank downtown Toronto home to the Ontario Tories last month, playing host at a $250-a-ticket wine and cheese fundraiser for Mike Yen, the PC candidate in Trinity-Spadina.

This summer, Mr. Wright warned federal Tories not to become the story in provincial elections. Now he’s done just that.

Get them Warren. Smoke em out. God bless you, not too many have the energy or the stomach for what you do.

Harper at the BBQ, Del Mastro doing his own poll, and now this.

It really seems like the Con trifecta propagandists are trying to buy Ontario’s election–and, thus, Ontario. Something smells really bad here. Doesn’t this conflict with election rules that are supposedly enforced by electorial regulatory bodies? Is there even an Elections Ontario?

Other than what I read in national news outlets, I know relatively little about Ontario politics, but this just seems, well…

..wrong. It doesn’t feel entirely legal.

Keep kickin’ ass, big guy. If I were fighting an election campaign, I wouldn’t want to be on the wrong side of you–and you can take that as a compliment! 😀
