Ours, on top of theirs, which (a) came on a day when no one was paying attention and (b) repeats the Tea Party imagery. Happy.

  1. Thomas Jefferson says:

A wise and frugal government, which shall leave men free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement, and shall not take from the mouth of labor the bread it has earned – this is the sum of good government.

    Thomas Jefferson

Is that an actual quote? TJ needs to read some Marx if he is to realize that by creating wealth by exploiting of ill-paid labourers means that industry is actually taking bread from the mouth of labour. Also, if you do a close read of that line, it sounds like TJ is advocating for no taxation of labour – which leaves out the fact that taxes come from somewhere else (like industry and the rich).

“TJ needs to read some Marx”

No he doesn’t. Karl Marx has been responsible for million of deaths.

“by creating wealth by exploiting of ill-paid laborers ”

You mean when McGuinty takes my tax dollars and gives it to his friends in the public sector. Is that the wealth you are referring to?

The public sector has it better than anyone in the private sector so you need to understand we already live in a Marxist country and only Revolution will get us back to freedom and individual rights.

I’ll leave you with another quote and how true it is.

“‎A general State education is a mere contrivance for moulding people to be exactly like one another; and as the mould in which it casts them is that which pleases the dominant power in the government, whether this be a monarch, an aristocracy, or a majority of the existing generation; in proportion as it is efficient and successful, it establishes a despotism over the mind, leading by a natural tendency to one over the body.”
        — John Stuart Mill (On Liberty)

In a “free country”, Karl Marx would be tossed in the same trash-bin as Hitler, Pol Pot, Stalin, Mussolini, and every other fascist who wanted to control people and their lives.

  2. Michael S says:

“Labor is prior to and independent of capital. Capital is only the fruit of labor, and could never have existed if labor had not first existed. Labor is the superior of capital, and deserves much the higher consideration. Capital has its rights, which are as worthy of protection as any other rights. Nor is it denied that there is, and probably always will be, a relation between labor and capital producing mutual benefits. The error is in assuming that the whole labor of community exists within that relation.”

Abraham Lincoln, Republican President of the United States of America, State Of The Union Address, 1861

  3. TheSilentObserver says:

I’ve said in the past that had Lincoln been alive today, the Civil wWar would be fought against members of his own party

  4. Thomas Jefferson says:

Abraham Lincoln was a Socialist and is rated number 16th on the historical rankings for past Presidents.

He was a lousy President and nobody who loves freedom like Abe.
