Promise
We’re having an okay couple of days. So what does some right-wing asshole do? He/she puts a piece of personalized hate mail in my mother’s mailbox. She lives alone, in another city, and is near 80. She called me, and she was upset.
So…we’re putting up security cameras at her place, now. But – here’s a promise – if you go back, tough guy, I’m going to put you through a meat grinder, I swear to God.
That’s a promise.
There isn’t a political party in the world that hasn’t been the victim of pranks. I volunteered for New Democrats who complained about the Liberals. I’ve talked to Liberals who complain about the Conservatives. And then I talk to Conservatives who complain about everyone.
But going against the hard right, Lange party, reform Party, tea party radicals will make you some dangerous homegrown enemies. Ask Gabrielle Giffords. Ask the family of George Tiller. Ask the victims of 7/22.

Maybe they’re trying to take you out of the play for a day or more by dragging you out there to stay with her; if so, maybe the LPO can spring for some taser-armed PI’s or Security Guards to watch over her and nab the bastard who played along, if he tries again.
I don’t agree with the inclination to minimize this type of behavior by blaming it merely on “frat boys’, or by “wing-nuts”, or by neutralizing it because “everybody does it”. No they don’t. Progressives don’t send hate mail to moms. Just like women don’t practice pedophilia.
This was an act driven by hate. Progressives get angry with opponents, or feel utter contempt for them, or pity, or even hate their actions or policies, but they don’t hate the people of the other side in a way that targets their mothers for violence.
Only advocates for the Right do this type of thing – in Canada today, and everywhere throughout history. Conservativism is an ideology of hatred driven by fear. It destroys communities by tearing down what people have built for each other, and by squandering people’s resources on hate-based policies that further divide, diminish and impoverish.
Conservatives need to face the fact that one of their own did this to Warren, his mom and his family, and to stop ducking reality. If you had any decency your tone and actions would show it; instead you pretend it’s just another day, and that your implicit support of this type of behavior doesn’t make you complicit in it. Buncha cowards.

I think most right-of-center types would find this behaviour equally repugnant. The individual in question is obviously a spineless coward…plenty of which exist on both sides of the spectrum. Terrorizing seniors is the lowest form of thuggery and should warrant the cane.
I hope your Mom is resting a little easier, W…that’s a very upsetting event. My (widowed) mother is also nearly eighty – I certainly know how I’d be feeling.

I would suggest that you contact the hate crimes unit in [Mom’s city/town name redacted]. For I strongly suspect that the culprit(s) is/are already person(s) of interest to the unit. While this may not result in immediate arrests, it could further their evidence gathering in any “hypothetical” on-going investigation which aim to secure asses to walls with flat-headed stainless steal fasteners.
Oh there will be a lot of hard evidence linking Free Dominion with certain Landowners coming out real soon now.

If you think right of center types would think this repugnant then you should check some of their blogs. And some of their comments on media streams. They can be excedingly nasty.
Don’t waste time thinking about who might have done this based on politics. Protect Warren’s mum is step one. Hopefully, find out who did it and punish them appropriately. Its horrifying it happened at all.
