Adler Nation: is the Liberal Party dead?

In which I follow Peter C. Newman, who is a tough act to follow.  Also tough: commenting on his book when RANDOM HOUSE WHO IS MY PUBLISHER TOO hasn’t even sent it to me, Scott Sellers.  Scott, who works at Random House and is MY FRIEND.  Allegedly.

Charles, who isn’t nearly as nasty as some progressives might think, makes me laugh.

Conservatives, the cool kids? The popular kids maybe, but cool? Not on Harper’s watch. Also, is it not worth noting how young and multicultural the NDP caucus, and, presumably, support base has become?

Any Liberal who saw Mr. Rae speak in the House of Commons recently on the national disgrace of First Nations communities doing without clean safe drinking water should know that we have a first class leader, and that we really neednt look any

further for someone younger and “sexier”. He has the experience, the intelligence, and most importantly, the passion, to get the job done……

  3. Harper has a majority, therefore I’ve been ignoring politics for months. In a weak or curious moment I peeked at my politics news feed for the first time in eons and landed upon this post of Warren’s.

Two thoughts immediately sprung to mind:

    1) Very little Liberal happenings have made it through to my brain via TV, radio, or print, since the election. What gives? I might be specifically avoiding the political but I haven’t tuned out the entire world. To put it more succinctly and crassly, one can be forgiven for wondering if the federal liberals are still around, at least from this sometimes clued-in British Columbian’s perspective.

    2) Sun TV is still in business?

Wake me up when something interesting happens on the party and leadership scene. zzzz.

The federal Liberal party is not and never will ‘die’. It may exist in suspended animation (…the slowing of life processes by external means without termination. Breathing, heartbeat, and other involuntary functions may still occur, but they can only be detected by artificial means.), but certainly not deceased. Canada desperately needs a resurrected Liberal party, but who will administer the CPR and lead it into the future?
