I guess it’s Prime Minister *David* McGuinty then?

    Or Prime Minister Hsu.

  2. Jim says:

he ends the debate now, maybe in six or seven months he will change his mind.

It’ll be interesting if he does run because he’s just been on record in his recent campaign as saying that the reason to vote for him to oppose a Western-based government and Quebec-based opposition (although the government in fact has more MPs from Ontario than anywhere else, but Dalton wouldn’t let that confuse him). So under McGuinty we’d be getting the Liberal Party’s full-scale shedding of any pretense to being a national political party, and its reemergence as a regional protest party. It would definitely signal a new direction for the party, which is what many people are saying it needs.

Nipped the silliness in the bud. At least publicly. Good for him.

All you hacks wanting McGuinty as PM, get him his majority provincially first and all of us will follow in line. We are in a minority government now, and Hudak is a loose cannon, it could happen sooner than later. Stay focused on the task at hand, like Dalton!

  5. Sean says:

exactly what ought to be said… for a guy who might be PM in 6-8 years

  6. Mark says:

Well, what is he supposed to say?

… and Dalton ends the debate….but not the speculation!

It’s obvious to me that there is no competent, successful, charismatic leader currently within the LPC ranks.

The LPC can only be resurrected from the provincial Liberal ranks, and Dalton is an obvious winner.

Really, there is no time for the LPC to groom a fledgling leader; she/he must be ready when the rubber hits the road.

Dalton is able, but is he willing to fight it out in a leadership campaign? I think not. Another crowning?
