In today’s Sun: Kenney for leader!

There are many things, and many people, which Jason Kenney doesn’t like.

The list of things which the minister of Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism detests is long. For example, the corpulent Calgary Conservative detests multiculturalism, quite a few immigrants, and an impressive number of his fellow citizens, too. In fact, Kenney may be the first federal cabinet minister to preside over a department he would like to eliminate.

Born in 1968 in Oakville, Ont., Kenney has never really worked in the private sector. He was one of the mouthpieces of the Canadian Taxpayers’ Federation for a while, but that’s essentially a branch of the Conservative Party. Since 1997, he’s had his snout firmly planted in the public trough, and he likes it there. For example, when he was (ironically) the Canadian Alliance finance critic, Kenney spent more than $120,000 in taxpayer money on trips in a single year. That made him one of Parliament’s biggest big-spenders.

He also attacked fellow conservative-minded MPs – calling them “dishonest and hypocritical” – for opting into the MP pension plan. When, um, he was already a member of said plan.

Therefore, we know that’s something he likes: Kenney likes to blow taxpayer dough on himself.

Finally, FINALLY i have found somebody who shares my intense contempt and revulsion for Jason Kenney! *sniff*

  2. WesternGrit says:

True. So true. I used to call for his resignation – just for something to do… But now, I whole-heartedly agree with you. What amazes me, is the inroads he’s made into several communities, just by being there (at events), and winning favor with the right community leaders.

I just swallowed heavily at the thoughts of such dysfunctional, damaged adults holding any reins of power over other people. I suspect if you went out and deliberately scraped the bottom of the barrel you couldn’t find a better bunch to run as Conservative MP’s. Good grief.

A conservative that hates government but loves spending on himself? A conservative that hates anyone that disagrees with him and does anything to settle old scores ? Listening this morning to the talk radio blowhard bitchin about d duncan crying about health care cuts and how everyone has to suck it up and quit whining but when something falls through the cracks with the provincial government they focus a white laser on it and pound for days to paint the liberals as monsters. These people truly sicken me.
Wait until all the old people get told to wait for longer lines and if they are sick it’s their own damn fault. It will be fun to see the back off government crowd labelled as a special interest group. Kenney is but the tip of the iceberg about to flip over and expose the giant nastiness about to come.

  5. Andrew Gregg says:

Isn’t Kenney gay himself? I know he’s not a Sikh, a Muslim or a woman, but I’m pretty sure he’s gay.

  6. Brad Young says:

Like everyone else in the CPC, it’s do as we say, not as we do. They do like to spend our money on themselves it seems.

  7. Pomojen says:

And he makes small children cry. When he was the mouthpiece of the Canadian Taxpayers….actually, more of an organic bullhorn…..he was on Newsworld one night going from angry to rage-filled. No one was paying attention because the television was turned way down. A small child toddled into the room, took one look at the bullhorn in the eye (eye level for a toddler) and began to cry hysterically. Wouldn’t come back unless there was proof that the television was turned off. A prescient toddler if there ever was one….

When the CPC goes full on fascist, Kenny will be at the helm. He makes Harper look like a smelly hippy.

    • Philip says:

Then we can test that nifty theory about Canadian values being Conservative values. Kenny certainly has the fear and hatred vote locked up. I would bet he polls well with the self-loathing demographic too.

  9. William says:

I know of a country that has an opening for “Dear Leader”.

  10. AP says:

I know you weren’t a fan of Christopher Hitchens but I just read this passage he wrote about Hillary Clinton that I think more appropriately applies to Jason Kenny:

“There’s something horrible and undefeatable about people who have no life except the worship of power, people who don’t want the meeting to end, the people who just are unstoppable, who only have one focus, no humanity, no character, nothing but the worship of money and power. They win in the end.”

I hope he turns out to be wrong with that last sentence.

This is another law of human nature oft overlooked – which coincides with Voltaire’s cardinal truth: “People who believe absurdities will soon commit atrocities.”

This is something that really sticks in my craw about this lot: so many of them talk a big game about the free market and yet so few of them in their adult life have ever earned a nickel there: John Baird, James Moore, Pierre Poilievre, Jason Kenny, Tony Clement, the list goes on and on. Heck, the Sex Pistols may have still been cutting records the last time Jim Flaherty earned a paycheque that wasn’t from the public dime.

NHARJ: Never Had A Real Job
All parties have them, but the CPC seems to have more, and much more annoying examples. Sexual sublimation going on there?

  13. AmandaM says:

Erm, Gord, Mr. Harper is actually from Ontario. His seat is in AB, but he hails from Toronto. But you knew that.

    • smelter rat says:

According to the beliefs of many Reformacons, absolutely. Is there any proof that Sir John A passed a citizenship test? Did he ennuciate the words clearly, or mumble them behind those mutton chops of his? Inquiring minds want to know.

you are the biggest idiots on the sun tv. you are the biggest supporter for honour killing idiots by calling kenny racist. what kenny done wrong by banning burqa when they take oath? you are going to make this country like saudi stupid. we are going into wrong path until we let you idiots give any voice in media. you liberals/ndp on downfall and going to fall on your face by kissing terrorist religion ass.

  15. Anne Peterson says:

James Moore hosts little private entertainments paid for by Quebecor at which the PM and wife and a few others are invited. This is the Minister of Heritage who is bad mouthing the CBC at every turn and is reponsible for its funding, accepting perks from Quebecor. I know there is something wrong with this but considering the conservative level of ethical behaviour it is probably only the tip of an iceberg for him. There sees to be no level to which they will not sink.

  16. Woody says:

Thank you Warren, for writing that article.

  17. Woody says:

Gord, C’mon … 2020? I think if the CPC stays in power next election, Alberta separate soon after. Maybe Kenny can be President? (An then where are you going to direct all your comments? There won’t be any place for you to post)

  18. frmr disgruntled Con now happy Lib says:

Lets cut the crap(no pun intended) Mr. Tulk, you know as well as I that the Fundamentalist Christian base that controls your party lock, stock, and barrel would not have a gay man(in or out of the closet) as leader in anyway, shape or form……that goes for John Baird too……

  19. Penny Filson says:

“Kenney may be the first federal cabinet minister to preside over a department he would like to eliminate”. I have to say if he was first, it would be a tie. Gerry “the Ritz” was in charge of the Canadian Wheat Board. Then there was Gary Goodyear, the federal Minister of State for Science and Technology who wouldn’t admit that the earth is older than 5000 years old. I guess he isn’t trying to get rid of his department, he just doesn’t believe in it.
