Online-agnosia

I’d add it to the list.  It’s what I call the inability of people – usually teenagers, but also Paulina Gretzky – to discern, and understand, that whatever they put online (a) is seen by a potential audience of millions (b) is forever and (c) has unhelpful consequences.

Got any examples of Online Agnosia you’d like to pass along?

Holy crackadoodle…how does someone end up reading a wikipedia list like this? A guy would have to have a lot of time to kill while the kids are at the rink.

Pat Martin’s potty mouth on Twitter. However, I think that helped Pat.

And, without their sex tapes, Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian would still be nobodies…worked out publicity wise for them.

But, in general, you’re right……the Internets remember everything.

I’ve always taken a slight grain of salt to claims that it is the internet itself that encourages individuals to disseminate information with the potential to damage themselves. It seems to strike me from first hand experience that individuals with a tendency to do this sort of thing online are able to embarass themselves in face to face conversation just as easily. I know I’ve said things both offline and online that I wish I could take back from time to time, but it is undeniable that some people just seem to have a knack for doing so

Doesn’t cheapen or lower it enough to keep you away though, does it?
