Romney told CNN, “I’m in this race because I care about Americans. I’m not concerned about the very poor. We have a safety net there. If it needs repair, I’ll fix it. I’m not concerned about the very rich, they’re doing just fine. I’m concerned about the very heart of America, the 90%, 95% of Americans right now who are struggling and I’ll continue to take that message across the nation.”

He should be a goner with a statement like that, taken “out of context” or not. But I am not sure anymore that this is how things roll, sadly.

Did anyone really think this draft dodging, garment wearing pretty boy born with a silver spoon etc would give a ratz azz about the very poor?…..He didnt give a ratz azz about those poor and

disadvantaged who didnt have the connections/education to get a deferral, avoid the draft and who perhaps wound up sacrificing themselves upon the paddy fields of Vietnam….while he enjoyed the

comforts of Paris mansion doing his “mission”during that time…..he himself having received a deferral for his “missionary work” and while attending university(where the young Mitt had the gall to be a

participant in a pro Vietnam war protest), between 1966 and 1969….

Yeah, and the Dean scream didn’t hurt Howard either.

      Words never matter.

Was Kerry really that affected by saying “I actually did vote for the $87 billion before I voted against it”?

The lovely thing is that Republicans/Harper Conservatives have been masters at torquing a phrase out of context to mean something completely different.

Turnaround is fair play, I say.

Especially when you don’t even have to much turning or twisting with Mitt Kerry of Massachucetts.

    fucking scum bag

  10. Ted B says:

When is the so-called “liberal” media going to start running articles on any Republican like they did on Democrats like the “Top Ten Kerry Flip Flops”.

Is it bias against liberals or just that there isn’t enough space for a column listing all of the flip flops by Romney or by Gingrich?

  11. Philippe says:

    He’s a goner regardless.

  12. Raymond says:

When I saw Colin Powell speak in Calgary a few years back, he remarked that the GOP “carried a lot of baggage”…
    Boy, he wasn’t kidding.

  13. fritz says:

    What he really meant was:
I’m not concerned about the poor; they will never vote for me.
I’m not concerned about the rich; they are already voting for me.
I’m concerned about the middle class; those voters are up for grabs in November.

Now there’s a quote that will be a defining one for Mitsy. Whether he likes it or not.
