Alberta’s Sarah Palin defends candidates who say whites better, gays will burn in Hell

Right here.

(But, whatever you do, National Post’s Jen Gerson, don’t cover that!)

    Danielle Smith said:

    “Accompanied by Calgary candidate Ron Leech, she said he misspoke when he appeared to suggest he has an advantage in Monday’s election because he is Caucasian.

    Smith said that in Alberta, if you make a mistake, you apologize and move on.”

    Bullshit. There should never be any forgiveness for hateful racist comments or jokes.

    Never forgive. Never forget

      Then what, dare I ask, should one forgive? What dare I ask, should one forget? Nothing?

      Are you suggesting we should do away with the parole board? Are you suggesting mandatory life sentences for all crimes?

      Sounds pretty extreme to me.

    Warren: What if someone is truly sorry and repents or what if they made a misstatement. I mean far from being a WRP supporter but if Leech had said “outsider” instead of “caucasion” there would be some truth in what he said. Somtimes Palastinians and Jews need someone in the middle to bring them together.
    I can’t beleive that a good catholic like yourself does not believe in forgivness after true repentence?

    I mean when I was young I said some truly asinine statements about race, telling jokes about “pakis” and Pollacks” without even knowing what those words meant or how hateful they were. I cringe at them now butare you saying I can never be forgiven?

      But this wasn’t something Ron Leech said in his youth — but just a few days ago;

      and it wasn’t a matter of impolitically correct language or insensitive jokes,

      it was him sincerely asserting that he thought that as — and because he is, a ‘Caucasian’ (meaning, a White Christian) — he was better able to understand, represent & advance the views of the constituents in that riding than someone who was from an ethnic (or other religious) group.

      “I think as a Caucasian I have an advantage. When different community leaders such as a Sikh leader or a Muslim leader speak, they really speak to their own people in many ways. As a Caucasian, I believe that I can speak to all the community.”

    Sorry I meant to ask that of Llokah

    Kinsella compares Smith to Palin like it’s an insult. How cute!
