Frank Klees: the Herb Tarlek of Canadian politics

You remember Herb Tarlek, don’t you? Well, Herb lives, to this day, in the Earthly form of Frank Klees, Tea Party North MPP.  He does: they look the same, they dress the same, they think the same. Herb/Frank this morning declared that he intended to keep the bells ringing at the Ontario Legislature, until he gets what he wants in the Ornge mess – said mess having been entirely conceived, directed, and staffed by partisan Conservatives.

Herb/Frank wants more hearings so he can call more witnesses. So, here, once again, is one of Herb/Frank’s “star” witnesses on YouTube, now watched by more than 1,000 folks. It’s perhaps the most amazing bit of footage in Canadian politics so far this year – and it fully explains why the Ontario PCs blew a double-digit lead last Fall, lost the election, and are now losing the likes of Liz Witmer.  Because they’re idiots.

Take it away, Herb/Frank!

The cancellation of that show before its expiry date still rates as one of the greatest crimes ever committed in TV. Tarlek!!! Hillarious. Is Harper the Big Guy?

  2. Philip says:

I love how this Walter Mitty actually believes that he is Jack Bauer. “intelligence operations”? Please.

I would be interested to know more about Mr. Klees’ work for Northern Ethanol and Neutron Enterprises, two companies manipulated by convicted fraudster George Georgiou: http://business.financialpost.com/2010/11/19/george-georgiou-gets-25-years/

I will not stand here idly and let WK impugn the character of Mr. Tarlek by making such a horrid comparison. Herb Tarlek, for all his faults, was a guy who actually occasionally did something useful at work.

  6. Tim Sullivan says:

What am I missing. Where is Frank Klees in this?

  7. Woody says:

Herbert ‘Herb’ Tarlek: You know what we call problems in sales? We call them opportunities.
    J. Garrett Hopkins: Les, your friend is a twit.

Anyway, video is an instant classic. Mo’ idiots, mo’ problems. Libs need to direct more people to these on a YouTube channel.

First of all I don’t see Mr. Klees in this clip so not sure why he is getting the blame for this testimony. It was a Liberal MPP doing the talking, not Mr. Klees. Who ever wrote this ridiculous blog has obviously never met Frank Klees. To compare him to Herb Tarlek is evidence that you know nothing of what you speak. Not only is he is one of a very few gentlemen left, he is extremely intelligent as well ethical. Yes, an honest to goodness ethical politician. I do understand your confusion. It is doubtful the author could last long in a conversation with Frank Klees so it is apparent your paths have not crossed and are unlikely to, except perhaps the obligatory hand shake politicians are expected to give even in the most uncomfortable situations. Don’t look now but the green monster is sitting on your shoulder.

Who is Trevor Harness? What specific interest does the President of Regional Air Support Program of Ontario Inc. have in this matter? what is the relationship between the Ontario Air Ambulance Corporation (ORNGE) and this other service provider?

From the Auditor General’s report on “ORNGE Air Ambulance and Related Services” (March 2012):

“Until about five years ago, the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care (Ministry) contracted with private operators to provide its air ambulance program’s aircraft, pilots and paramedics.” http://www.auditor.on.ca/en/reports_en/ornge_web_en.pdf

Was the Regional Air Support Program of Ontario Inc. a service provider for the Ministry, pre-ORNGE? Were they seeking to be? They were definitely and actively seeking contracts for air service in Toronto and in Niagara and Peel Regions in 2002 and 2003:

If there’s more that needs finding out here, maybe there needs to be more hearings….
