Heather Mallick on Jan Wong

What a load of Deepest Annex bullshit. What a load of crap.

Jan Wong wants sympathy, after turning in a student in China to the authorities, which resulted in the student being disappeared? Jan Wong, who linked a massacre to “racial purity” in Quebec? Jan Wong, who got sued multiple times for crappy journalism? Jan Wong, who bragged about “setting up” a breast cancer survivor? Jan Wong, who gave speeches saying she “didn’t care” what harm she caused? Jan Wong, who was eventually despised and discredited by pretty much everyone?

Jan Wong is scum. She is human garbage. I was delighted to hear that the Globe eventually severed their relationship with her. And I am equally delighted that she continues to drown in her own bile, and her own irrelevance.

As long as I live, I will never forgive Jan Wong for what she did to our family.  May her misery be long and deep.

Perhaps instead of depression, her doctor should have been treating her for sociopathy…..Number one on the list really rings a bell…..

    ICD-10

The World Health Organization’s International Statistical Classification of Diseases and Related Health Problems, tenth edition (ICD-10), defines a conceptually similar disorder to antisocial personality disorder called (F60.2) Dissocial personality disorder.[5]
It is characterized by at least 3 of the following: 1.Callous unconcern for the feelings of others.
2.Gross and persistent attitude of irresponsibility and disregard for social norms, rules, and obligations.
3.Incapacity to maintain enduring relationships, though having no difficulty in establishing them.
4.Very low tolerance to frustration and a low threshold for discharge of aggression, including violence.
5.Incapacity to experience guilt or to profit from experience, particularly punishment.
6.Markedly prone to blame others or to offer plausible rationalizations for the behavior that has brought the person into conflict with society.

There may be persistent irritability as an associated feature.

The diagnosis includes what may be referred to as amoral, antisocial, asocial, psychopathic, and sociopathic personality (disorder).

The criteria specifically rule out conduct disorders.[6] Dissocial personality disorder criteria differ from those for antisocial and sociopathic personality disorders.[7]

It is a requirement of ICD-10 that a diagnosis of any specific personality disorder also satisfies a set of general personality disorder criteria.

If you have an issue, here’s a tissue. Bloody hell.
Jan and Heather both need to have a chat with John Lydon.
I used to pay attention to Heather, it’s a shame the amount of bad gas comes out of her these days.

I haven’t read or clicked on Mallick in ages, I feel bad for ending my streak.

You forgot to mention Jan Wong’s enthusiastic participation in the Cultural Revolution in China as a fanatical Maoist – that alone should have disqualified her from employment with a national newspaper as a writer. Some things could be forgiven on the basis of the ‘folly of youth’, etc., but not that.

  5. Tim says:

For those who aren`t familiar, what exactly did she do to your family?

That’s a fairly psycho post, so I imagine it’s gotta be really, really, deplorably bad.

    In honest ignorance, what happened?

      Read the links, for Chrissakes.

I do remember and as retributive as this seems-and using the words of Cee Lo Green – ” forget ” her!

I remember writing a letter to the editor of her paper about what she did, and never got a reply from the editor -so “forget” him too!

        • Tim Sullivan says:

That’s not the word Cee Lo Green’ used. He used another. I like the other word better. It is more appropriate.

One disgrace to the profession writing about another. So glad I can call myself an ex-journalist if those two parasites are still drawing paycheques.

  7. Jeff Lavry says:

A minor point, but why condemn a Toronto neighbourhood in some drive-by guilt by association with this idiot columnist and/or her idiotic subject/story.

Your comment reminded me of Jason Kenny, who dropped some non sequitor after the May election decrying the Annex as the heart of ‘moral relativism’.

So which is it: are we the seat of bleeding-heart political correctness, the epicentre of cold-hearted moral relativism, or is the problem for Warren and Jason simply the fact that we vote NDPish at all levels of government?

    • Warren says:

No, I just hate the Annex.

      • Jeff Lavry says:

Oh, and here I doubted the substance of your remark. My apologies.

      • Derek Pearce says:

Ha! Dude, you live in Leaside if I recall, so you have no right to judge ;P Anyhow I agree that Wong is ridiculously self-righteous and shoddy.

    • ottawacon says:

      Can it be both?

I missed the Mallick byline on the first pass, and was wondering who could possibly be sympathetic toward Wong. I am repeatedly struck by how blithe she is about the fact that she pushed someone who thought of her as a friend into the Maoist gulags. She refers to it as if it had no more significance than skipping a coffee with someone.

  8. Steve T says:

Heather Mallick is one my most despised columnists (along with Frances Russell of the Wpg Free Press), so it comes as absolutely no surprise that she is supporting this idiot.

  9. Riaz Khan says:

    Dear Mr. Kinsella

I did not know that about your son. I have two of my own and I could just imagine what you and your partner went through. I just wanted to let you know that you and your family will always be in our hearts.

My favourite quote about Jan Wong from Robert Fulford:

“A Jan Wong interview has all the charm of a train wreck, complete with the moaning of the survivors.”

Not all all suprised by heather mallick’s support. She is a number too.

  11. kre8tv says:

I’m divided on this. On one hand, I’ve always felt that everyone deserves at least one advocate in their corner. And on that score, I respect Mallick’s intentions. But the facts remain that Wong has done some really douchey things to people. It reminds me again that karma in this world is a wheel that comes around. It’s why there’s no water left in the well of human compassion for Wong: she poisoned it and has made no effort to rectify that. Further, I take strong exception to what Mallick clearly implied in her piece, that depression is somehow a crutch that exonerates truly despicable behaviour. I’ve dealt with moderate depression all of my adult life. I could never imagine treating people the way Wong has, particularly in such a public manner–and worse still, to not even own up to those actions later on.

  12. TokyoJoe says:

You’d expect anything less from that harridan Mallick?
