Interesting tale from Mr. Angry Dipper’s past

No wonder he looked medicated in that NDP ad!

I am somewhat surprised that the Conservatives have yet to air any anti-Mulcair commercials. They seem to be focusing their resources on Bob Rae.

Of course they could be figuring that they have the next election sewn up already, and do not have to worry about Mulcair and the NDP. I suppose they could view the Liberals as the real threat and are playing the long game causing instability within Liberal ranks to further decimate them.

Perhaps Harper is taking Warren’s words to heart, and not letting his foot off of the collective Liberal throat.

Harper’s long term vision of Canada is to destroy the Liberal party. He will help Mulcair if it hurts Liberals, just like he did with Jack, and maybe Thomas, like Jack before him, will be willing to lend Steve a hand.

Harper hates the Liberals because he fears them. He doesn’t fear the NDP, not yet anyway.

Also, he knows if he can drive the Liberals fortunes down even further he will boost his own fortunes by playing the “we can’t have socialists running the country at a time like this, the economy bla bla bla…”

    • Philippe says:

They have some sort of googly-eyed fanatical obsession with the Libs. It’s borderline psychotic. They have a majority now and it’s like they’re still acting like a bitter beaten-down opposition. So much bitterness….

It’s simple. If you cut an ad saying “Thomas Mulcair unleashed a profanity-laced tirade on the separatists”, his popularity might go *up*.

It goes against the narrative the Conservatives really want to use: that the NDP’s believe in a simple majority for Quebec independence means they’re secret separatists. PS: Mulcair is a French citizen.

    • allegrafortissima says:

Mr. Mulcair is a Canadian and a French citizen, so what? He received his French citizenship 20 years ago because his wife Catherine was born in France. Does this make him ‘less Canadian’? Mind you, millions of Canadians have dual citizenship – does their dual citizenships make them ‘less Canadian’? Or ‘half Canadian’?
By the way, our head of state, The Queen, is a British national (as the Sovereign she is not a British citizen). However, according to EU law, The Queen is a EU citizen.
