Fight The Right! (with a spelling error in the very first blurb!)

Here it is – the official cover to the new book, out in September! Plan to share it with some DNC and former Chretien folks at a dinner tonight, here in Ottawa. The U.S. cover, I’m told, will be different.

Link to pre-order is under the image, or on the banner to the right. No pun intended.

    Kindle edition?

Gratz on the book design. Cover has a punk DIY feel which I like a whole lot.

  3. Waiting to find a copy in the used bookstore. 😉

  4. dave says:

Gentlemanly generosity from Ivison and Flanagan!

  5. Krystyn says:

Is “Michiavelli” spelled right in the quote at the very top? I thought it was “Mac…”

  6. David Imrie says:

I look forward to reading it, but who is there besides Bob Rae?

  7. Daniel W. says:

Who is Michiavelli? More ruthless than Machiavelli?

  8. Deborah Taylor says:

Ummm…. spelling error on the very first line?

  9. Liam says:

Not to be that guy, but someone has caught the typo in Machiavelli on the top there, right?

    • Warren says:

Isn’t that awful? I told them.

      • CQ says:

Also, the leading quote isn’t further attributed to a specific person, as are the other two. And Flanagan’s organization isn’t typed in Italics, as the first two are. Still, at least you have a registered website already, Ask ‘Katie’ about that. Good luck with your recent effort.

      • Pat says:

I don’t think it’s an error… you’re Irish, so you’re a “Mich-iavelli”… You only say Machiavelli when the person is Italian.

CONGRATULATIONS + THANK YOU For Your Great Works WARREN … I will wait until the Book Goes to Paperback !!

  11. scanner says:

T’would be “The Star Learned” that made the error? Or another illiterate 22 yr old art director? (lol)

  12. Lord Kitchener says:

Im looking forward to the chapter re conservative zombies, and how to take them down using their diagonal stripe clubhouse neckties.

ps – i wager a strong double shot that the copy editor is one of those types who says “expresso”

  13. Dude Love says:

So…with the term apocalypse you are stating that civilized society is weak and fragile and that individuals cannot be relied upon to support the greater good?

    • Philip says:

I would have preferred the phrase: “Conservative shit show” myself. It’s not as if decades of clinging to a set of ridiculous economic assumptions and half remembered Ayn Rand quotes is actually world threatening, just terribly sad and pointless. I guess the only sense the word “apocalypse” could apply to the Conservative Party is in the sense of embarrassment that one gets watching their slow motion train wreck of a government.
I’m not sure how much longer Canadians will be willing to tolerate the Conservative’s third rate imitation of the Nigerian political system but it can’t be much longer.

      • Dude Love says:

Every government (regardless of political stripes) becomes a train wreck. Politics has become a series of hyperbole and partisan rhetoric and that is the real apocalypse.

And with a humour, Amazon.ca list the book as “Fight the Right: A Manual for Surviving the Coming Conservative Apolcalypse”

    Nice pun “Apolcalypse”

    I’m going to steal one.

  17. Swervin' Merv says:

Congratulations, Warren, on the coming birth of your new book, appropriately announced on Mother’s Day. Given the growing level of frustration among progressives, including here in Canada–where Harper continues to incrementally advance his agenda to have government become “too small to succeed”–Fight the Right should be a runaway best-seller.

  18. Greg from Calgary says:

Looks interesting Warren, I’m sure it will be a worthwhile book when I get it. I just finished reading Chris Hedges “Death of the Liberal class”

  19. Ted H says:

I know, I know, I should just buy the book but when you say “Conservative Apocalypse” do you mean that conservatives will bring our society to the brink of apocalypse, or that the conservative movement itself will suffer an apocalypse? Hopefully it is the latter.

  20. bluegreenblogger says:

For $17, I guess I can spring for a copy. Mebbe you have the winning formula…. Hope springs eternal, lol
