June 10: we get letters
Im 77 yrs old brought up and born at Bathurst & Queen area we had lots of colored people living in the area,if i called a person a NIGGER my mother would give me a good swat, but i never did call them that name. It seems everyone of you bleeding hearts defend other races all the time. But what about the COLORED scum calling WHITES HONKIES, Is that oka. I get a kick out of terms used to insult whites or english people. I kinda like “honky”, and I’m amused when French Quebecois call me bloke or tete carré (square head). And here I thought square heads were Germans. Like kids say (or used to), “Sticks and stones will break my bones but words will never hurt me”. Can we bit more precise, please? I assume you mean what are commonly called “WASPs” rather than “Caucasian”. Because plenty of (mostly) white-skinned nations/peoples/cultures have gotten it in the neck from their oppressors over time – Ukranians in Stalin’s USSR come to mind, and some would say that back in the bad old potato-famine days, the Irish would have been considered oppressed.
Understand that I’m not “ranking” the suffering of, say, Ukranians over those of other groups, races, cultures, etc over time (because honestly, how does one rank that?). Just saying that it’s way too simplistic to say that certain groups of Caucasians have never been oppressed, in some cases horrifically.

Funny, I can`t remember the last time a white person was prime minister or CEO of a major corporation. I also can`t remember the last time white people had a higher standard of living and average level of wealth than visible minoritie. And I definitely can`t recall the last time the interests of white people were seen as the general societal interest while the interests of such groups as immigrants and First Nations were seen as a `special interest`.
