Putin is afraid of these grrrls

These women terrify the leader of Russia.
Isn’t this the same Putin Leader-for-Life whose Foreign Ministry mouthpiece Konstantin Dolgov said that Montrealers’ rights to protest had been reduced by Bill 78, and that cops should show restraint.
That thug Putin can be deadly for people he doesn’t like.
Putin is not afraid of these women. But the fact that he is willing to go to great lengths to brutally prosecute & persecute these harmless punk musicians sends the message clearly. No dissent of any kind will be tolerated.
Is it just me or does this seem like something Brian Salmi would set in to motion?

I’m torn. On the one hand it’s clear that the scale of the trial and possible sentencing would seem to be politically motivated, and I’m all for freedom of expression (more so than mein host, even – good riddance Section 13) but at the same time invading a church and desecrating an altar isn’t appropriate – or necessary to make the point being made. It’s hard to imagine that the stunt could have been carried out without doing some damage to the church – and so we definitely have trespass and vandalism even leaving aside the deeply disrespectful act against a house of worship, which I find morally wrong but recognize is not legally protected.
I think that should be acknowledged, but clearly this would be an appropriate case for a small fine and move along, so in the big picture the band are to be supported in their stand for freedom in Russia.
Good on you Warren, this is a great cause to fundraise for, and I hope its not futile but I fear it maybe. Still, no reason not to try. Good luck
