—Ford follies: episode ad infinitum
Look at the bright side: at least when the world’s worst mayor was caught, this time, he didn’t lie. Like he’s done plenty of times in the past (here and here and here).
Toronto’s world class? World’s ass, more like.
Mayor Ford, reading while driving on a highway, going 70 kph.
No word on which comic book it was.
It’s been a helluva day for shake your head news stories
What a sad little buffoon, wrapped in a cocoon of self-congratulatory righteousness.
You only need to observe his person to understand the full weight of his disrespect and disregard for healthy and rational boundaries.
If someone has the original photo, I’d love to take a gander at identifying the document…
Biggest pic I found: http://media.winnipegfreepress.com/images/ford-reading.jpg
One theory, based on the large font size, which you can actually see in the pic, is that it was the draft of a speech he was to deliver. Another says it was likely a KFC menu.
I keep thinking that this whole Rob Ford thing is some joke that Toronto is playing on us. Like you guys really elected a different mayor and just when Ford does another stupid thing and the rest of Canada goes “WTF is wrong with you Toronto?” you let us in on the joke. You go “Nahhh, we really elected Nenshi, we’ve just been stashing him in Calgary to fool you all.” and we’ll all laugh and enjoy the joke.
Who knew he could read?
Questions from the west coast:
What are Ford’s chances of re-election? Who is likely to run against him? From the right and the left …
Thanks!
Rob Ford is following almost the exact same trajectory as mayor Larry O’Brien in Ottawa.
Like Ford, O’Brien was elected (in 2006) by a wide margin, riding a wave of “throw the bums out” sentiment. Like Ford, O’Brien took a combatative stance with council before discovering that the bully pulpit only went so far. By his second year, his support was in freefall and council was in revolt against him. At the end of his term, he was defeated soundly 47-24% by a more centrist candidate.
Current polls suggest that Ford would lose a two-way race to Stintz or Vaughan or Tory by almost the same margin O’Brien lost in 2006. A three-way race would be dicier, and could play to Ford’s favour.
How has this man not been fired yet?
Don’t worry, two more years.
Memo to all Ontario JP’s: If the accused raises the The RobFord Defence: “I’m busy”, you must acquit.
i was able to find a higher resolution image that shows what he was reading.
no surprises here either…
