He would’ve been a contender

…and I can tell you that senior Conservatives were quite unenthusiastic about him as federal leader. But that’s that.

Who will be our champion now?……For the good of the party, I wanted this thing to be a bona fide race, not a coronation…..I was looking forward to Mr. McGuinty being a “contendah”……twas not to be unfortunately……
Good to see Martha Hall Findlay has her debts paid, and now is free to throw her hat in the ring at least…..

Agh. Good grief. So then she can spend another 6 years not paying the new debt off….especially since she is no longer an MP.

Joyce Murray, however, is obviously going to take a stab at the job.

      and there’s always this guy….http://cnews.canoe.ca/CNEWS/Politics/2012/10/15/20284546.html

I pass no judgement on Martha Hall Findlay as I was not yet a convert when she was running……I hope that Dr. Murray runs, and I am happy to see Mr. Burton is taking a run for the top job(despite the huge obstacles he faces)….I want this leadership race to see a hundred schools of thought contend(sorry)….
If Justin Trudeau is going to be our leader, I want to see his mettle running the gauntlet of a good, solid, competitive leadership race. Not only will it help define what we Liberals stand for, it will be good training for him when he faces the Con Research Group shivs…..
