Punk and politics: the Ford begone party (updated)

Some of the folks who helped, pro bono, to get Rob Ford removed from office – I won’t reveal who they are – intend to come to SFH’s gig tomorrow at the Bovine Sex Club on Queen Street West.  It will therefore be a celebration of sorts.

If you want to join in, and meet some of these heretofore unknown people, c’mon by.  This political pestilence will soon be gone – because (a) he is not going to win his appeal and (b) if there is somehow a by-election, he’s going to lose that, too – and that is cause to be happy.

UPDATE: And if you want to know why ridding ourselves of the Ford pestilence is so important, you must read this.

  1. Jeff says:

Wish I could join you for the celebration. Alas, I’m in Vancouver. Raise a pint for me pls.

  2. Mr. Murdoch esq says:

Just when you think our City and the World is turning to shit, along comes this

Its one of those pictures capturing a moment of compassion that words cannot express.

Kinda puts stuff in perspective for a moment eh?

  3. Kelly says:

Give a homeless man some boots and they call you a saint. Ask why there are homeless men with no shoes living in the wealthiest country in history and they call you a communist.

Oh, and I’m going to give the cop the benefit of the doubt that he did this of his own accord because he really thought it was the right thing to do and that he’s not a paid actor hired by Bursten and Marsteller working for the NYPD/City of New York — you know, the guys who coached a Kuwaiti princess to pose as a teary “ordinary” Kuwaiti and lie that Iraqi soldiers took babies out of their incubators and threw them on the floor. (of course this sort of thing may have happened later but B&M has admitted that this episode was staged to build the American appetite for war in Gulf War I.

  4. deb s says:

I hope the Ford Brothers dont crash the party…have a good time!
The whole city ( not to mention some other parts of the country) appreciate the hard work done to get the clown out of office!

  5. Brad Young says:

I admire that you express yourself the way you do, calling Ford what he is for example. It’s easy enough for me to post he is a fat slob and buffoon, but he has no idea who I am if he were to visit the site.

    • Jon Adams says:

Ain’t nothing wrong with being a fat slob and/or buffoon. I happen to admire a lot of both, and if I were to judge people on those criteria alone, I’d open myself up to all sorts of sadly accurate name-calling.

It’s being a vengeful (and come to find out, deceitful) plutocrat who can dish it out but can’t take it.

  6. Roger says:

The Ford Nation will hand you your ass on a platter in a mayoral byelection .. that’s if the union commies on Toronto Council don’t abort democracy and install an interim mayor for the next 2 years .. and rule by decree .. like Mursi.

  7. Dave says:

I love how if you do not agree with the radical right you are either a communist or terrorist.
