Bob Nixon, Sean Conway endorse Pupatello
I note, without comment, that Bob Nixon endorsed Gerard Kennedy last time.

With all due respect to Bob Nixon, his service to the Liberal Party, Ontario and Canada, I question his past political judgements. In 1975, while leading the polls, he called Bill Davis a crook during a televised debate. May have been true since Davis had been embroiled in scandals, but that hurt him. Yes, he was a solid Provincial Treasurer under David Peterson, but hawkishly pushing him to call a provincial election in 1990 proved to be costly.
You know what’s great about this race for us Pupatello supporters? Sandra is a lot of people’s first choice! But even better than that, she is A LOT MORE of peoples second choice. When those subsequent ballots line up, that is whats going to decide this race.
If Canada had a happy warrior in politics, respected and regarded warmly as a person, it would be Bob Nixon. He brings a lot especially to committed people looking for a second choice.
By the way Warren, I think Kennedy is coming on more strongly than many thought he would.
If Kennedy wins, we will be in Opposition for a decade.
Why?
The implication being with Pupatello you could win…how does she find the millions of dollars and volunteer hours that the education workers of Ontario donated to the liberals in the last three elections? Last year education workers voted liberal to avoid Tim Hudak’s vision for Ontario only to find Dalton liked it. Pupatello being a blue liberal I doubt she will reverse bill 115 and the austerity attacks on public sector workers planned for OPSEU. So how does she win? I see the next liberal leader as opposition leader or third party leader. You’ve ceded the center to the NDP by moving so far right. Centrist parties win in Canada….or did I read your books wrong?
