Canada’s best-loved political web site this morning

The last four postings, I note, are about the news media, and how they sometimes bewilder me. I’m sure I bewilder folks, too, but I don’t charge anyone for “news” or “opinion.”

Anyway.  They’re not having a good morning, the MSM. I’m sure they’ll feel better tomorrow.

    W,

I wouldn’t dream of charging my readers, over at the other place, since they are relatively few in number. Nonetheless, the quiet satisfaction of trying to brighten their day is more than enough recompense for me.

Last eve I watched on tv a favourite Amer movie, Levinson’s WAG THE DOG. It was comic and eerie when I first saw it around 1998/99, and even more so now. I thought maybe it had been banned the past dozen or so years because it looked like hte regimes down there were using (along with Orwells’ 1984) not as a caution, but as a guidebook. The movie depicts political manipulators using the news media like a yo yo. Great stuff! If it scratches even a surface of truth, it is no wonder the MSM is drowning.

Anyway, good to see this film surface again. The writing is terrific (as you would expect with Mamet involved.) Good movie for political junkies!

Is putting the Sunshine Girl and presumably Sunshine Boy behind a pay wall a form of prostitution?

For those that do not already know, any paywall that has sample views allowed, is defeated by just clearing your cookies, use three browsers and you get three times the samples before you have to clear.

I get most of my news from Al Jazeera – http://www.aljazeera.com/

I find it’s the most unbiased news anywhere. The Canadian content is a little light, but for world news you can’t beat it.
