You know what I find fun about Ford’s ouster? How all these neo-cons, who are normally “tough on crime” types, wanting to ramp up enforcement and punishment, are complaining about “unelected judges” when one of their own flagrantly and defiantly breaks the rules. So I guess conservative concepts like “tough on crime” and “zero-tolerance” only apply when it’s not a conservative politician in the docket. I guess we need one set of rules for conservatives and another for everybody else.
You forgot one other neo-con pillar of justice – “mandatory minimum sentences’. Which, in the case of former mayor ford, means that for his sins … he is out – no wiggle room for the judge to work with. As a non-Torontonian watching from the outside, I think you should all sincerely hope that the door does not hit Rob Ford in the ass as he departs. The MOST fun will be watching him come in 3rd place in the ensuing by-election to replace him. What an embarrassment he has been for all Canadians.
Rob Ford would lose any by-election he ran in. He is a serial law breaker, as well as an ass. Everyone who doesn’t like the idea of a self-entitled serial lawbreaker for mayor will concentrate their minds and say, “wow he really was as bad as all my friends said he would be. I won’t get suckered again…” and they will rally behind a good candidate. Someone with Gravitas and a record of accomplishment. Multiple polls are already pointing toward that individual. And her last name doesn’t begin with F or end with D.
It`s a pingback… I linked to this post on my blog, and this is the notification and reciprocal link. Some friends of mine were celebrating `The End of Rob Ford`, and I felt impelled to explain why I think that he will be re-elected. This judgement is truly `Deus ex machina`, but the opportunity it presents will be fleeting. Make the celebration short, and start organising or the gift will be wasted.
Thanks for the link Warren

You gotta love the right wing neocons:
If they lose an election? It ain’t democracy.
If they get caught breaking the law? It’s a conspiracy.
If they have to serve time for breaking the law? They the victims of the left wing.
All ya have to do is listen to Conrad Black or Rob Ford, that “failed economist” in the PMO who shuts down our government whenever he feels like it.
If Ford wins the by-election……….oh man what will the Ford-haters do?
I guess the same could be asked of the Ford Nation if he loses the by-election. Oh man will they be more grouchy than usual!

Is the above Warren’s censorship, sell censorship or an inability to write in complete sentences?
(I’m betting on the third)
It’s called a trackback, an automatically generated excerpt of a blog post that links back to this one.
Now you know, and knowing is half the battle.
