Apology by Matt Hopkins

“On January 18, 2012 I made allegations that Warren Kinsella was fired from Sandra Pupatello’s campaign for leader of the Ontario Liberal Party. The allegations were false. Mr. Kinsella was not fired from the campaign. I retract those allegations and I sincerely apologize to Mr. Kinsella.”

Matt has also made a generous donation to the Arthritis Society, at my request. Good luck to him and his team in the weeks ahead. Onward and upward.

Classy move Matt. This is how we need to see our political leaders acting. It’s okay to make a mistake, it’s a full on integrity move to admit you were wrong. Refreshing.

…..that wouldn’t have been necessary if he was dealing with fact instead of fiction in the first place. You nicely forgot that tidbit Joe.

    Is the date wrong? 2012?

If he actually made the statement on January 18, 2012, (not 2013), he’d at least deserve some praise for predicting the existence of of a Pupatello campaign almost a year in advance.

As it is though, it speaks to his concern for accuracy in what he writes.

Thank you so much for the donation, both of you. The Society very much appreciates it, particularly in the name of re-building. 🙂

    Mr Kinsella,
As a lawyer and someone obviously experienced in this area, what are the parameters of libel in laypeople’s language? What things can be posted on bulletin boards without fear of libel? I would find it very interesting to hear your thoughts on this.

[Ed. Bourrie is back, folks. Ever wonder how we all know what he’s up to? His media colleagues tell us. They’re not fans.]
