There is nothing on Earth I hate as much as the Miami Heat and LeBron James. Nothing.

Nothing.

I watched every minute of the Celts-Heat game on a JetBlue flight from Florida to New York, and then drove back to Toronto with the kids, getting in late, late, late.

My detestation for James and the Heat kept me awake.  They are the most loathsome and dislikable bunch of pricks to ever don a professional sports uniform anywhere, ever.  Did you see James yelling at his coaches in the second half? His self-congratulation? This jerk is more arrogant than North Korea.

I pray for great disaster to befall the Heat.  Pestilence, floods, locusts, angels of death. My God, do they ever deserve it.

You are right on Warren, but what a super team, calm and collected down 13 points with 5 minutes to go and destroyed the Celts. Too many gooid players on one team. Might be one of the best teams ever collectively

I sincerely doubt anyone in the East can stop them (maybe Chicago in a year or two depending how Derrick Rose has healed), so our hopes and dreams are riding on the Thunder or the Spurs.

I also recommend “The Whore of Akron” by Scott Raab. Great analysis of the world of sports and fandom and a whole lot of Lebron hate.

The lesson is the MLSE must buy a couple or three all-star types, as Miami did by stacking players, if the Raptors are ever going to compete in playoffs. Currently the Raptors are in a (perpetual) development phase that will require a few more seasons before they can even hope to rise to 8th place in the Eastern Conference.
