—Worthington, RIP
He was no fan of yours truly – case in point – but what a career he had! He’d been there to see it all, first-hand.
Journalism really doesn’t produce men (or women) like him anymore. It’s a cliche, but it’s true: with Worthington’s passing, it’s the end of an era in Canadian journalism.
Sincere condolences to his family and many friends.
It’s absolutely true that there are few like him left. Established media often decries free online content, but the internet has sure as hell made journalists a whole lot lazier (I was going to say ‘but they sure benefit from it’ and reconsidered).
RIP Peter. Must have played hundreds of shinny games with him at the Moorevale park rink. We didn’t speak much–he was 38 years older than me; ancient in my 10 year old eyes–but he always had a nod and a smile for me. Oh, and apropos your recent Hudak post, Warren, he always wore a Bruins jersey.
