The clash of cultures

Specifically, that of (a) a nameless turtle, Chrysemys picta marginata methinks, and (b) Roxy, Canada’s best-loved political dog.  Wish I had filmed this encounter up by the cabin; it was pretty funny.  It ended with me sliding the turtle into a safe, marshy spot – and Roxy retreating, looking quite relieved.

The dog could be Mulcair and the turtle Trudeau hiding in his policy shell… or some such metaphor…

  2. lol, When I was a kid in rural Quebec, we had an enormous Newfoundlander (dog) who came home one day with THE BIGGEST painted Turtle I have ever seen in my life, carried in his mouth. He depositied it in the kitchen, and returned back 10 minutes later with another enormous painted turtle. It was hilarious, he did not know what to do with them, just pushed them around with his nose for awhile until we returned them to the river. We were actually afraid that he would be dumb enough to try the same trick with a snapping turtle some day. We loved that dog, but brains were not his forte

Roxy’s thinking, “…WHAT are you, man?! WHAT ARE YOU?!”
